It’s a tough situation, because the law does state that anyone can seek asylum. And they will not be removed during the hearing process. However, it is clear that this group of people will not meet the requirements to be granted asylum. We all know the practical implications of what happens if they aren’t detained while awaiting heir hearings. We also know the media’s play if they are detained while awaiting their hearings.
Once again Trump is correct. Congress needs to change the laws. If I am trump I am making it crystal clear that anyone seeking asylum through this method of entry will be detained until their hearing. If they have children, this means, by law they will be separated after a few weeks.
The media will still paint trump as a villain....but he is used to that.

Exactly. They were offered and turned it down. That is off the table. We do not have to do anything but turn them away when they get here.
