You're POTUS. What do you do at Southern border?

Let's say you're POTUS, and you're facing this "immigrant" wave of thousands heading to the Southern US border. You deploy the military to prevent them from entering, but they aren't stopping. You can't detain 10,000 people.

Bring back he military from abroad (save for South Korea) and put them on the southern border. After that, who gives a shite about the Wall?
Why not? We have 1.3 million active duty troops. I don’t see the major problem here.

But I'm asking specifically right now. You have your army on the border and the "immigrants" aren't stopping. What do you instruct your generals to do at the precise moment of choice?

Isn't it the role of the national guard to deal with this? I think Trump having the regulars support the guard so they can stay focused on interdiction is the correct way to go.

Advise Mexico that you are going to stop it. Monitor the movements of the caravan via drone. Push troops 20-30 miles into Mexico. Rat. Tat. Tat. Tat. Never let them get near US soil at the crybaby immigration laws. Deal with it in Mexico.

There won't be 10,000. Arrest the men first, get them out of the way. By the time some heads are banged the women and children will be more submissive. Something tells me some kind of compound will be set up for temporary purposes to keep them. How the government gets them back home, military transports to the nearest runway to their country that can handle the landing. Open that bigass back door and let 'em walk.

Get combat engineers to throw up barricades at multiple points.
Set up military to shoot any male over the age of 15 that tries to come in illegally.
Process the women a children right back to country of origin.

A message must be sent. I invade Mexico and turn that invasion force around in Mexican territory. The loss of face suffered by the existing Mexican government should be adequate to prevent it from happening again.

Order them to stop (in Spanish). When they cross, open fire and kill the front 50. The rest will flee and never come back again.
