Wonder how they will be positioned? They are supposedly just there to help with logistics, but can they actually detain people as well?

If they are serious about this, they need about 10,000 infantry on the first mile of Mexican soil to stop those two Honduran divisions before they get to the border.

An administrative maginot line will not stop it.

Engineers, aviation and pecker checkers. If they are Title 10 troops then no they cant directly detain anyone.

They can "assist" civilian and local LE but those agencies will take the lead on detaining people.

ox News has learned military police will be among those headed to the border, though they will not be acting in a law enforcement role – but rather in a “force protection” mission, guarding any U.S. military personnel supporting the Border Patrol, according to another official.

And the other 4,000 will be support troops with sidearms assisting the other 1,000.

The PC act should be amended to exclude military enforcing our border.

Patrolling our streets is one thing, repelling invaders is something else all together.

Troops, by definition, are trained for combat.

Perhaps at only a basic level, but still.

Pretty bad when you have to call in troops to protect other troops responsible for protecting the people, and those very same people want to attack the troops that protect them.
