If you had to choose from one of the following.
A. You are guaranteed to live to be 80 but not a day older
Or
B. A piece of paper face down on a table. On the other side is your otherwise future age of death

Just give me my 80. Stupid games = stupid prizes.

80 is all I want anyways so I’ll take A

Or nothing. I’m not giving up my chance at living another decade past 80 and pooping myself in a nursing home while outliving my children.

I don’t see anything appealing about this option. At best, I’d get maybe an extra decade of being old and brittle. 80 is a pretty good run. Change it to 75 and it’d be a tougher choice.

80 is fine with me. Would make retirement planning easier.

I would choose choice A if I could completely forget about it afterwards. I don’t want to be dreading my 80th birthday for the rest of my life

Yeah but on the other hand you could plan for it better if you have a date certain. And if there’s any murdering you want to do, you know when to do it.

Your two choices aren't even related. Why would I want to know when I die?

Why would anyone want to live past 80

Neither of my parents made it to 80.

Every one of us already has option B minus the paper.
