Junk Car Options

Anyone have any recommendations on the best way to get rid of an old car? My 2007 Saturn Ion blew it's engine and I need to get rid of it. Sure it's not worth much, but want to get the most I can out of it since I had just dropped about $1,000 fixing misc. things on it earlier this year.
Thanks.
Thanks.

Sell it for scrap metal, I guess. Probably not going to get much on it.

drop it off in gardere, say it was stolen.

I thought there used to be a bunch of those guys with signs on telephone poles, but I haven't seen any recently.

Was in a similar situation a few years ago...looked at three options:
- Sell it to local scrapyard (would have to pay for the tow there).
- Sell it to the mechanic shop who did the diagnosis that a $1200 car needed $2500 in repairs. But he wanted me to cover the title transfer notary, etc.
- Sell it to a "we buy junk cars" company online.
I chose the final option because they handled all the paperwork via fedex, and towed the car, and offered me about $100 more than the mechanic did.
Scrapyard wanted the least amount for it.

Lets go ramp shite on the levee and then just abandon it when it stops working

I used cashforcars.com for an older non-running vehicle I had and got a couple hundred bucks. They contract out with a local towing place to come and pick it up for you. As long as you have the title they will give you a check when they pick it up.

I sold a junk car to Pull-A-Part recently. Best price I could find, and they picked it up.

I sold an old dead Volvo years ago to a junk yard. They paid me about $75 and towed it off. Easy, peasy.

Junk yard might give you tree fiddy.

Call around to scrap yards, get the GVWR number off the inside of the driver side door frame and have the title in hand. You will get about $300 minus tow.
Alot of those guys haggle so insist on $350 or at least a free tow.

As a bonus, you now have this jingle stuck in your head.
