Commute time is a big downfall for Houston but it seems to be the Houston way. Live out in the burbs in a nice home and save money left and right with great schools, but commute 30-45 minutes each way to work.
I'd do many unspeakable things for a 30 minute commute to work downtown, and I only live in Shenandoah. I'm looking at 45 on a good day, hour+ if a drop of rain falls from the sky within 6 hours of quitting time.

This is an important election. Baton Rouge is my hometown and I have lived here all my life. This community has been very kind to my family, and I love our capital city. I know Sen. Bodi White and Sen. Sharon Weston Broome, and they are both good people with a heart to serve. I have met with each, watched the debates and read their responses to the Baton Rouge Area Chamber questionnaire. It seems that on many of the issues, the candidates are in agreement on what needs to be done. So which will be the better listener and be more effective with the Metro Council and residents north and south? Who is the right choice at this time in history to unite our parish and move our city-parish forward? I thought about this long and hard. There are never any guarantees, and as they say, “The proof is always in the pudding.”
I concluded that Weston Broome is the servant-leader who can be the best mayor-president for our community and future. She gets my vote.

Its 45 minutes from Shenandoah to Downtown now? I know traffic has gotten progressively worse, but damn! You'll also be cutting your car insurance in half by moving to Houston.

Never trust a man named Rolfe. I knew one who is a convicted murderer serving life plus 20.

Is there a list of dates and timelines in the process of establishing St. George?

They are worried that they will lose tax inflow because of this.
Also the most vocal element of the opposition are the magnet parents who already have their better schools at the expense if thise who do not.

That's the most vocal group on my Nextdoor. People that live in St George but have kids at BR High.
