Even the Miss State pool reporters admit Miss state is essentially one dimensional. They have to run the ball. Read option, old fashioned option, blast left, right, sweep etc. it’s up to our defense to stop them. If they can do that and keep them in the teens this should be an LSU win. (Provided we don’t commit a bunch of turnovers.) if not they will expose our lack of depth on defensive line and grind us into the ground.

They have had two weeks but we are getting healthy. This is where Aranda shows his brilliance and shuts them done. This is where Bebe limited practice times show they work. This is where special teams prove their worth and we show we can tackle and block, or

The dream that will die in tiger stadium will be the one of our SEC championship.

Ehh...

A lot is on Esminger too. State can't run 60 times if the LSU O can control our TOP. We need to keep Sweat and Simmons running sideline to sideline and go up tempo when we can. We need those big boys sucking wind by the 3rd-4th quarter while keeping Fitzgerald on the sideline.

LSU isn’t going to the SEC Championship, but with a win against Mississippi State, it brings LSU one step closer to a Sugar Bowl berth.

So if it is up to Aranda and as someone said a lot on Ensminger, does the head coach actually do anything?

The real key is effort and execution. Whichever side has it, wins.

Getting out to an early lead could really limit their options in the run game. Our secondary is really the strength of our defense. The delayed handoffs are our weakness. If LSU gets up early, then they should run away with it.

This is where every game is lost or won. It has been this way since the beginning and will be no different.
The Oline and defensive front 7. Win the trenches; win the game. No less and no more.

I would like to see a dominant defensive performance, to the tune of Fitz being pulled in the 2nd half for Thompson. In reality, I think our offense will need to get going to keep this game from being a 4 quarter tug of war. We don't have the depth up front for a team to lean on us for 4 quarters.

This game can come to down to several keys:

Turnovers
LSU O-line vs Simmons and Sweat.
Containing Fitz
etc

If Moo U is as good as advertised it will take a complete game to win.

It doesn't have to be pretty. It just has to be enough to get the W.

“Aranda”

It’s both amusing and telling that these days people want to put responsibility for on the field results on coordinators more than the head coach.

When Coach O made the statement that he would talk to the coaches and say let’s do this or let’s do that, he put the bull’s-eye directly on his back. Personally, I think that’s the way it should be.
