I second this. Get a file folder and start getting organized. It’s a year of dealing with the whole rebuild process. Get on the adjusters schedule ASAP so you can get your rebuild money faster. Once contractors are booked, you will be waiting a while and paying higher prices. Get organized, clean out your own place and find a reputable contractor to rehab your house. Nothing worse than dealing with problems on top of problems.

Yep all of this.

I videoed and took pictures of everything then gutted and cleaned out my place before the adjuster showed up. Everything was documented but I wasn’t waiting on him.

I’m a contractor so I’ve got that part covered. Trying to figure out now how hard I’m going to persue rehabs. I typically only do new construction and their will be plenty of that. Just not sure about subs with all the work going on
