Aikman is the classic hall of very good guy, he's a poor man's Terry Bradshaw.

Brees is great obviously but if I think about swapping situations I honestly believe New Orleans would have more than 1 Super Bowl with Brady/Peyton & I don't think Belichick/Brees would have 5. I base that on the fact that when i watch Tom Brady I look at a guy making the game look a lot easier than it really is, he's almost a computer back there processing all the variables at lightening speed as they unfold. When I look at Drew Brees I see someone who has unbelievable accuracy with the football but not quite that level of mastery of the position. That's not a knock by the way, Brees obviously is a master of the position.
Without the team fielding the worst defense in the league year after year, the saints and Brees have multiple rings.

but you should admit you're a bit of a homer when it comes to Brees.
You put joe montana as the GOAT and call me a homer.
Besides, I mentioned Peyton as well. How is that homer?

nope
Bradshaw is actually a little underrated historically. He's more Brett Favre than Troy Aikman.
Aikman was a very good qb for his era but would not even so much as sniff the hall of fame had he not been on those Cowboy's teams, to say nothing of this list.

Show me one major stat that puts him above his peers - and I’ll show you 10 where he is at the bottom compared to these guys
Montana
Fouts
Marino
Young
Favre
Manning

Where's Aikman and his three Super Bowls ?

it's not like putting Joe Montana at 1 is a hugely controversial pick. He's widely considered either the GOAT or in that highest tier.

the thing about the quarterback position is that stats can be extremely misleading one way or another.

When you put him 1st right ahead of Brady and have Brees and Peyton much further down, that’s homer af dude.

I have them both in the top 10
i didn't even rank Aaron Rodgers or Troy Aikman

If you want to talk about Montana though, his accomplishments are comparable to Brady's even though he had Walsh for half as long as Brady has had Belichick, and he did it in an era much rougher on quarterbacks. You don't think that's awfully impressive?

57.0 cmp rate.
He was good but not sure how you justify him at #4.

And went to 4 Super Bowls in that span. You go back and look at the highlights and watch some of those retrospectives it's pretty clear he was a stone cold killer.

Nope, Bradshaw played longer. Less yards, more pics. He for sure wouldn't have achieved anything without being on that Steelers dynasty.

he was gunslinger, like Favre. Not as good as Favre but in that mold.
Aikman threw a ton of picks himself and he was the classic drop back qb.

These kids only see stats and don't have a clue what the NFL was like last century when defenses dominated and they ran the ball to set up the pass.
One can only imagine what some those older QBs would do in today's over legislated sissy NFL?
Roger Staubach won FOUR passing titles in the 70s...it was a different game and not all about stats from the QBs kids.

Sure, but you have Elway in the TOP 5. You would think there would be SOME major stat to hint at that greatness considering all his great peers are WELL above him. He’s “literally” statistically insignificant relative to his peers.
