Home security camera systems

I've read some threads on here. It seem the crowd here enjoys the ARLO system just as the tech sites do. I'm considering them.
What i really want is a 5 camera system with a dvr or nvr. Ideally I'd like continuous recording and when storage runs out, i just want it to start overwriting automatically, assuming I'd have at least a week of stored video. It's not very clear that the nvr ive looked at Do this. The ability to monitor live from my phone if needed is also desired. I dont care if i have to run wires, as i have tons of attic space and it's easy to get around up there.
Trying to keep this in the $700-800 range if possible.
Any suggestions or advice?

I can't comment on any brands or anything, but if you are going to want to record continuously, you will want a system that is powered through wire in lieu of battery. A continuous feed will drain a battery pretty fast. That's why all of the battery powered cams are set up on motion only. Plus, you never have to worry about changing out a battery. I plan to go with a wired camera system when I build my house so I will be watching this thread.

I have Laview and its been excellent. Most of them are just rebranded Hikvision units with different companies selling them. Laview has pretty good support.

Lorex
I ended up going with the above setup. I called them and got real answers from a real person and also did a live chat on their website. Again it was a real person.
I went with this system because I had different particular needs for two of the cameras and the excellent color night view. I wanted the color night vision over a long distance with one camera, and i wanted audio for at least one of them. The other two cameras are more than i need for those locations but it's what came with the bundle. It'd have costed more to try to mix and match and custom build a system.
I considered purchasing from a third party but i felt i wanted to have the same customer support I've gotten over the last two days. I hope it all works out.
It also allows for future upgraded if needed. Obviously paid a little (or a lot) more than i initially wanted to. I enjoyed many of the YouTube reviews. Some were paid, and others were private.
I'll be sure to come back and give opinions once i receive the system and once it's installed.
