O said the guy in the booth never saw the replay so he never said they should challenge it

but anyone watching the game saw it live knew it should be looked at and worth a time out at least to get a look at the replay.

so who is "the guy" was he taking a piss at the time and never saw the live action play?

inquiring minds want to know because this is a huge problem that seems to be being ignored as nothing but a failure to be able to see the replay by O

I’m not sure who fricked up but it was a royal one. If anything you get on the headset and tell o to talk to the refs because it was close.

It’s such a huge spot in the game, that honestly could have been the difference.

That’s why attention to details are so critical and someone in that booth royally fricked up.

well if the guy upstairs never said anything, and O didnt have a good enough look to know one way or the other, i guess i cant fault O for just "assuming" the spot was correct and acting accordingly.

Agreed but that "person" should have been terminated Sunday.

So, O was the only person in the stadium not looking at the spot on that critical third down?

I’m not sure how you get something like this wrong. When’s the last time you watched a game??

Absolutely!

O doesn't call plays. He doesn't scheme. His sole jobs during the game are to decide when to go for it on 4th down; when to call TO's; when to kick a FG/punt; and when to challenge.

If he can't even do those things then what role does he play once the game starts?

He wasted a TO just to take a delay of game penalty and he refused to call a TO to challenge a clearly bad spot. That's unacceptable

You'd think.

Replay is a wonderful advancement in regards to in-game technology.

However they should absolutely have a human failsafe, with binoculars, watching the play to provide another point of information precisely for the situation O described.

Not saying he would've been able to tell for sure the spot, but we could all see on the broadcast that the spot was at least questionable. You buzz down and get them to take another look at it, then we'd get those other angles that I'm sure they had.

Maybe those other angles were also inconclusive, maybe they weren't. But now we will never know. That was a high leverage moment and Orgeron failed in his duties. No other way to slice it.

Mentioned this in another thread. The Video replay feed comes from UF in-stadium broadcast. They didn’t get the replay until after the field goal. UF’s fault. Still should of called a TO though

Irrelevant what you think would've happened.

We could all see that the spot was at the very least questionable. Given game situation, down and distance, you get that reviewed. Worst case scenario the play is upheld and you kick the FG anyway.

The potential gain far outweighs the risk right there.

Have. Should have. Or should've, which is a contraction of should have.

But, yes, a timeout should have been called
