Ya know, I've told more than one person in life that for some individuals, even if you think you are absolutely correct on a subject, you just aren't the person to speak on it.
Bill Clinton could give a 1000 word speech about how important it is to be faithful to your wife and every word could be genius...........and it's still not a speech he can credibly give.
George Bush can't credibly give a speech on avoiding endless war.
Sometimes, ya just gotta let your like minded friends carry the ball.

I really kind of hate to say this but I think it is the truth. Bobby Kennedy getting assassinated the year before, as well as JFK's assassination earlier, kept this from sinking Ted Kennedy's political career. Probably more Bobby's due to the nearness in time of both events. People decided he deserved one mulligan after what happened to his brothers and boy did he use it.

It has always amazed and angered me that more questions were not asked. With the car not completely submerged how could he leave her? He swam across the bay. Then went to bed.

His brother consorted with a Nazi spy and should have been court-martialed for getting his Navy boat sunk. You think a simple drowning was going to derail a Kennedy???
