Bred my yellow and black lab again by accident. Male broke into the house to get to her.

Last time 9 yellow pups and 2 blacks

This time 5 blacks and 3 that look to be what they call silver. Very light brown and shiny.

Not mutts, I have pics of them tied up.

Anyone ever have experience with this?

they are registered as chocolate labs not silver... no such thing.

They are not recognized by akc

they are silver because of a recessive gene

recessive genese means more medical issues in long run

I agree it is recessive genes originally and when people started seeing the money they were getting, crooks started introducing weimereiner in the mix to make a silver lab.

My belief is it is naturally occurring and the medical issues come from so many people inbreeding the silvers to get more of the gene and resulting in medical problems.

Both my labs are very healthy and good hunting dogs. I was shocked to see the silver colors

Hence the quotes. I understand the AKC only recognizes 3 colors.
But what matters most, potential buyers, recognize more than 3

Or somebody who wants a jam up dog. My cousin has one that will close the door for you. Finds all our deer and dove for us. Duck hunts a little.
