I'm not sure this accurate. The quarters west of the base are ghetto, and there's one ghetto apartment complex to the north. I have driven and walked through those multiple times with no problems. The rest of the area surrounding the base is either middle class neighborhoods, commercial property, or open land.

I haven't actually looked at the crime statistics. Just going by personal experience. If crime was that big of an issue in that area, I would have heard about it from my family as they have lived there for 50 years.

Overall, the Bossier police do a good job of keeping the Shreveport riff-raff out.

Seeing as that there are what 3 bridges across the Red it seems easy enough to monitor traffic. I remember the day when BCPD was pretty blatant about profiling cars coming over from Shrevespoat.
