I love that not only did Bale not win, but they picked maybe Salah's 3rd best goal.
yeah, that looked like a routine salah goal. my winner is riley mcgree for the newcastle jets (aus).
here's the shortlist nominees & goals for those interested.
mcgree's goal

Noel Gallagher's presentation of Salah's award was fantastic...
"It's great to be in a room with some of the greatest footballers known to man, plus a few Man United players too."
"I can tell you that the goal was scored in an insignificant litter derby match that took place on the outskirts of Manchester."

Hazard over Salah is ridiculous...
Salah's goal was rather ordinary for a goal of the year...
Courtois as GK of the year is laughable, but then he's not in the team of the year...

FIFA and Ballon d’Or are no longer partners and haven’t been since 2016.

According to reports, FIFA’s decision not to renew the deal was made in order to improve the organisation’s strained relationship with England’s FA. This was based on the fact the annual ceremony was held in Zurich – and new FIFA president Gianni Infantino wanted to move the next one to London.[6]
