It's time for Grassley to resign in shame

This is one of the most disgraceful moments in American history. Basically Ford controls the entire Senate and is holding the country hostage right before the biggest midterm in modern history.

Now they agreed to testify next week...didn't agree to a date or terms yet but want to setup negotiations on details. So there is still no deal...but they want "more time" to talk about it

100% on cuck Grassley. Time to resign

Even McCain wouldn't be bullied like this.

Anybody who thinks Grassley hasn't handled this brilliantly so far does not really understand politics.

He is winning the PR battle. He is making Ford and her attorneys look like flakes. He is showing he's willing to bend over backwards while still keeping things under control.

It's a PR battle. He cannot be too strong or he will be accused of bullying. The bullying smear the left has been using hasn't stuck because it's so obviously untrue. If Grassley acted so firm like you want him to, it WOULD have looked like bullying and the left's smear would seem credible.

Grassley has handled this perfectly so far because there were many opportunities for the GOP to shoot themselves in the foot. They haven't so far. They've remained open and willing to hearing from her and all of the flakiness so far has fallen on the Dems.

The Democrats were BANKING on the Republicans to attack Ford, act like bullies, and try to ram Kavanaugh through. They haven't fallen for it. They've remained cool.

Because her story is so weak, they have to make her seem like as much of a victim as possible. If Republicans played hardball like you want them to, that would play right into the Democrats' hands to make her seem like more of a sympathetic victim. The fact that the Republicans have bent over backwards for her keeps the focus on her weak story instead of how the Republicans have treated her.

Anyone who thinks Grassley has handled this poorly does not understand politics.

At what point will Republicans grab their nuts, point out that a man's reputation and character are at stake and that his family is going through hell over a vague and unverified accusation from almost 4 decades ago?

Frick the politics and the PR game. Brett Kavanaugh, his wife and kids deserve better.

I agree. Everyone else needs to settle down. This is a PR battle. As long as the republicans get the vote through in time, it will all be fine. It doesnt matter if they linger around a bit and give her lawyers ample opportunity to provide their testimony.

Now if they allow it to be delayed all the way until the midterms, that would be bad. But even then, theres a very strong chance the dems wont win the senate back then

Calm down and have patience. It's all going to plan so far. This will be cleaned up in time.

But as for now, the Republicans have to remain cool.

Trump has proven time and time again handling things like a pit bull are better than being nice. If Kavanaugh and Republicans had hired someone like Joe DiGenova to publicly destroy this woman and her credibility, he'd be a SC Justice right now.

Oh really? What would be your whole gameplan then.

Go ahead and lay it out. How would you have handled this?

And by the way... if you want to destroy her credibility, that is something for the Republican operatives to do. That's not something that Grassley and the rest of the committee should do.

Grassley has to remain open and willing to listen, and operatives in the shadows are the ones who would work to destroy her credibility.

There's a time and a place for strategy and 4D chess.

There's a time to drop a hammer and be a damned adult.

Grassley and Co. have allowed this c'unt and her lawyers drag this out far longer than they should and have emboldened Dems to such shenanigans. Their hope that people will see them for what they are is naive, since you would need an honest media to portray their conduct in a true light.

You're the fricking majority! Goddamned act like it.

Okay, then let me ask you something. If you are so sure she is lying, then wouldnt you think she would crap her pants every time the republicans gave her another opportunity to testify in private? I do. I think she's a lying scumbag, and I would love to see her assin court.

Nope. Let her make excuse after excuse after excuse. She's looking like she's a fraud more and more. Nothing of any substance has been pushed back.

That's how they feel behind the scenes... but you can't play it like that in public. During this "metoo" era, you can't.

You have to pretend to be sympathetic and willing to listen.

The Republicans are winning the PR battle right now. It's working. Calm down and let it play out.

Considering what Kavanaugh is being accused of in the metoo era, it's going remarkably well so far.

When the allegation comes out, you go on the offensive. Find out who it comes from, get as much dirt on her as possible via PI's, leak that info to favorable news outlets and reporters. Subpoena her arse to testify and don't bend an inch on her demands. If she refuses, you vote. And finally, let every wavering Republican Senator know their districts will suffer if you vote no. You basically fight fire with fire.

Exactly. Democracy is about appealing to the majority. In this era, the majority of americans are stupid and believe this unverified bullcrap just cause the media tells them too. We have to prove them wrong this time. We have to show that this bitch is lying
