Yeah, this isn't complicated. I don't understand people thinking this is a free speech issue.

Yes. *I* could. But the majority of people in this country live and breathe all of these platforms and aren't savvy to this manipulation.
Honestly I am a happier person not knowing every minutae of other peoples lives since I deleted facebook.

I agree.. but where do you draw the line? Does an ISP have the first amendment right to edit the content a company posts? Could Comcast redirect people away from pro-Alex Jones websites?
Title II isn't the best way to do it.. but this is why net neutrality proponents want data to be treated equally.

Completely agree with you.
But if I am using your logic: why don't anti-abortionists just not have abortions and stay away from Planned Parenthood?

People use facebook wrong. I delete people, and don't have to worry about this annoying habit.

have yet to see evidence that they are selectively targeting non-political advertising from conservative businesses and promoting liberal businesses instead.
And yes, everyone who has an account is a product, not a customer. Almost every website you go to has coding on it letting Facebook know every last thing you do. And they can help put you in front of advertisers that are marketing to people with your interests and behavior, fact.

Truth is.. capitalism without intelligent oversight is just a different form of tyranny

Religion & their morality mostly.

No, its not.
Corporatism is.

I don’t think I’ve EVER seen you post more than one or two sentences that bring absolutely nothing to the thread you’re posting in.
All TDS and no substance, very hard to take seriously. I guess if you never have an opinion and hold no values then those mean Trumpkins (only a douche would still find this clever) on the Poliboard can never disagree with you and hurt your little feelings, huh?

I don't include you in that comment btw. I was specifically thinking about you (and LSURussian maybe) in the small but vocal group that supports the net neutrality repeal and would likely oppose this EO.

This is how some feel about FB. Not so much the censorship, but the underlying practices of tracking, facial recognition software, and psychological influence. It is dangerous for any one entity to have the ability to insert alogrithms at any time for nefarious purposes.

No, this is beyond blocking. It's misrepresenting.

Most people dont realize that the reason why facebook is free is because they (the users and their friends, demographic data, locstion, buying habits, political views, financial data, etc) are the product.

“If you do not like Facebook, quit using. Do not demand that the government change it to suit you.”
What if a person likes the idea of a social platform but doesn’t like the only one available? Where do they go to get a product that they want but is non existent in the marketplace because the one that they don’t like has closed the door to competition. You say “well quit using it” but there is not another option for consumers who, in this modern age, not only want but often times need the service. We are not talking about a hover board manufacturer here.
