Why the disrespect from pundits on Pels this year?

Commentary on the season is starting and predictions are being made...
On 1st Take, SAS and Max K said the Pels are not very good, despite Max forgetting how he was loving the Pels last postseason during the Blazers series..
Many are predicting us to not make the playoffs again or at best, being borderline 7/8 seed.
Now, I know losing playoff Rondo is an obvious factor, but he was average during the regular season sans a few games. I believe overall, Payton will be better than Rondo outside of his leadership skills which AD and Jrue should assume more anyways.
We added a physical presence in Randle that we didn't have after Boogie and needed against the Warriors when Draymond started talking sh** in Game 2 and basically won the game bc of it.. Randle will be better this year with better overall talent around him than with the Lakers and our style plays better to his strong suit of being a 4 that can lead a break and pass to open shooters like Niko, Moore, Clark, Miller...
I still feel we can be a top 4 seed in the Western Conference and will ultimately see a trade deadline move that brings in a SF to possibly be the last piece to a championship contender (here's looking at you Jimmy Buckets).
We are probably better than the playoff team fielded last year and that was a top 4 team in the West. I also feel we would have beaten Houston had we played them over GS...
Don't understand why the media hates small market teams so much to always put AD in trade rumors or to say it's inevitable he will leave. I thought that chatter died with the playoff run at least for a year, but it's never stopped and they're revving it back up again just bc of AD switching agents.
We are a Top 5 team OVERALL in the league! GS and Boston are the only teams I would significantly favor over the Pels. Houston will fall back with their key personnel losses, Spurs are old and lost Kawahi, don't trust the Lakers situation with their personalities and players who need the ball to be effective and LeBron making decent players regress bc of his game, Portland doesn't have enough, Minnesota is about to implode with the Jimmy situation, OKC might have addition by subtraction but don't have the shooters they need, etc.
All things considered, the Pels are a Top 3 Western Conference team and possibly #2 If Houston doesn't truly replace Ariza and defensive production.
Being objective, I don't understand the hate... F**k 'em, Go Pels!!!

Jrue played 81 games last year and the year before only missed 3 due to injury. AD has played 75 games each of the last 2 years. Both still have the injury prone label because the prior 3 seasons they earned it. I think the basic answer to your question is that the Pels are still in the process of balancing the scales and shaking off the stink from before. If the Pels can be a solid playoff team again this year then they will become one of those teams that gets the benefit of the doubt.

Injuries will always be a factor for every team outside of GS. Excluding the injury factor, roster for roster the Pels are Top 5!!

Because they want the Pelicans to suck so that they'll blow it up. This would mean AD goes to a big-market team (Lakers, Celtics, etc.) and the media goes crazy

And this is why I am not 100% committed to the NBA.

That's exactly why.
and some idiots say things just to get ratings or clicks.
and some idiots think Cousins played on our team last year all season, and that he simply tore his ACL.
Most people in the media are clueless about the Pels, and are only interested in getting AD to join one of the big market teams. Just ignore them.

I agree with you. Definitely agree with you. This team is better not worse than last year. I see us getting at least 50 wins and a top 4 seed, rather than a borderline 7-8 seed. Let the haters hate. Everyone thought LSU's football wasn't going to be good, but look where they are now. I like being underdogs.

We wouldn't beat Houston, unless CP3 got hurt.
No one is scared of playoff Harden.
That team is slowly going to get worst as i think they hit their peak this past year. They will still be really good, but not as good as they were the last two years.

They won 55 games two years ago and 65 games last season. So they are not going to be as good as they were two seasons ago when they won 55 games?
And what makes you think they hit their peak?

Because they are reliant on an aging, injury prone player on a max contract.

Outside of that Portland series, Rondo was average at best for us on the court last year. Maybe even below average

I don’t care how many games Houston can win in the regular season. That’s not what I was talking about.
And I’m not talking about the rockets on this board. Go back and talk to boomtard

Yall are only sprewing this because of some posts from crewz. Go watch the team at the beginning of last season when Rondo was hurt.

A healthy Boogie and we would have beat the Rockets in 6

You don’t remember the stretch of games in the middle of the season where Rondo was benched every game in the fourth quarter? He would start the second half and then not come back in. He literally stopped caring in the middle of the season.
I enjoyed having Rondo here. His veteran presence obviously made a difference. He was excellent in the Portland series. But none of that changes that his actual on court performance, when looking at a large sample size overthe course of the season, can be replaced.
