Yea, I'm sure he'll deal with dumb arse coaches trying to correct his form all through school too.

True. This won't be a one time thing, and he has years to develop the habits...probably smart just to let him pick up things at his own pace.

Wait, is this board really against kids getting private lessons now?

This is 100% dependent on the sport.

Tennis, rasslin, golf? Sure. One on one training is VERY helpful.

If this little poon is getting O line blocking techniques training after 5 days a week of football practice, You're a retarded parent.

That's what this is for. StretchIng, warm up, drills, strength training...basically just get him pointed in the right direction with everything. He's been at it for a few years already, he's very talented...he just needs know what he's doing is right, and work on shifting those things he isn't doing through perfect practice.

I don't even know what the frick you just said. You cultivated true belief in what exactly? But then he has to build up belief from within? Isn't that what parenting does instead of another man?

Muscle memory? You have no clue dude. You are a moron. Your kids shot will change as he grows in size and strength. There is no "muscle memory" at this point.

I feel sorry for you that you can't teach your kid, and are living vicariously through him and this weird cultivating shite you are babbling about is crazy talk.

Now you're just a straight up weirdo. I've dealt with plenty of your kind.

This is just facts albeit by one of our most dumbest posters.

My son's football team got a kid to come out to practice. He's played in exactly 1 football game and 1 jamboree and, in the 8th grade, he's 5-6 years behind kids his age.
And now he's the starting RB/DE and PR/KR. He's simply bigger & faster than the other kids and has NO clue what he's doing. But he knows which way to run and to try not to drop the ball nor get tackled.
We love him!

And wouldnt you think private lessons could turn this naturally gifted athlete into an even better player?

This board is so black or white its tarded sometimes (not talking to you specifically)

No. I'm saying private lessons on top of the grueling 5 days a week ~10-12 hrs of football practice on top of school work would be very irresponsible. In the off season, these kids should do camps. I'm all for that.

2% of high school kids will play D1 basketball.

3.1% will play college basketball at any level

Let me remind you the same as I do most all moron parents pressuring their kids and labeling them with the "spcial talk".

Little Johnnie might be the very best he will EVER be RIGHT NOW. Eventually kids rise and fall based on genetics and ability vs their peers. Good now means not dick.

What you will do is burn the kid out just like AAU tard parents do.

And the funny things is, the ones that do likely had private lessons......

This board is right that some parents force way too much on their kids, but in true OT fashion, they go way overboard and freak out anytime they hear about a parent with a kid practicing and spending alot of times in sports

Never seen anything to support this.

Another consideration is - what level of competition is this kid engaged in during the season, or at their respective school?

It's whatever, I just see more often than not it's NEVER a kid going to their parents saying "Hey Dad can I have private lessons so I can play better!"

Its even from my limited perspective

Some kids love it, some parents force it

And if the kid enjoys it, its pretty shitty parenting to just say no because "you wont be a pro anyway"

Thats a fantastic teaching tool

I had a coach who would have a heart attack if he saw the position Emanski has that kid in. We didn’t pay like his other students, but we had to do his coaching and do things his way if we were on the team.

He fricked my swing up royally

My son was incredibly happy when I told him I found a coach to work with him.

Same distance LSU won from this weekend, my boy misses this though.

Earlier this year. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=TqwnM13Ia8E

No dad could will his 12 yr old to kick 40+ yd field goals. He begs me to go kick. He's the most clutch free kick shooter you can imagine in soccer, he'd rather do this all day.

ETA: Downvotes for my little guy. Tough crowd, maybe 50 yarders by the time he's a teen is needed for upvotes.

We had a kid come out in 11th grade for football. Never played one down and we had all played since 8th grade. About a week later he was the starting RB, ahead of at least one kid that played D1 ball later I might add.

Really not sure why this is getting down voted. The average high school coach would not know anything about place kicking. Getting some instruction wouldn’t hurt.
