No he wasnt. He was the punter there too. He was always a major league baseball pitching prospect and people wondered why he would risk getting hurt playing football.

I like it IF it wasn’t called as a jump pass.

That ball WAS put on the money. Watch it again, Moreau stops just as the punter is throwing the ball. We don’t know how they were coached. There was certainly a pocket there that Moreau settled into, but the pass would have been complete if Moreau stopped or went, so long as they were on the same page.

I notice that fans tend to go with the narrative established shed by the commentator. So the punter overthrew it rather than Moreau broke off his route, and Delpit didn’t cover his man on that TD rather than Phillips missed his assignment. Unless the coaches or players speak out it’s impossible to know.

Everyone knew it was coming become you put in your long punter in a pooch punt situation.

Except Auburn because he was wide open.

I agree! Wish Rosenberg hadn't fricked up the throw, BUT yes, it was a great idea and design.

This. The jump pass is what screwed up the play

Expecting a punter to drop a pass in the bucket on a jump like that is ridiculous

Kinda how I felt. When Les would come up with these fake special teams plays, he wouldn’t ask someone to stray too far away from their skill set.

It was a good time to fake it, but we needed something better drawn up.

Moreau appeared to pause or let up about the time the pass was thrown (if you can call that a throw). Looked like if he had kept running, he would have caught it in stride.
1st punt of game for LSU, all of the Auburn players had their back to punter when he kicked it. Soneone upstairs saw that.

If he would not have let up, and caught it in stride, then would we call that a throw?

I didn’t mind the fake punt. The play itself could have been better designed though. I liked th aggressiveness of the call though.

I agree. The SEC will not be able to fall asleep knowing we could call it at any time. It failed but I liked that it was called.
