My uncle shot and killed my grandmother. My family spent the night holed up somewhere because we didn’t know where he was and what his intentions were towards the rest of our family. Late into the night we got the call that he killed himself.

They are all bad now but when I was 8 I was playing with a magnifying glass and lit a whole field of crops on fire.

The day I went to court for my divorce. My wife's sister called me that morning to tell me my wife called her and said if she lost custody she was going to "take care of" the kids. She was so shaken she felt she needed to tell me. She had several guys she met at bars leaving threatening messages on my phone that I had already given to police so I want going to play around.
My parents were in town to watch the kids (wife was a raging alcoholic at the time and rarely came home) and since they didn't have a car I called a friend and asked him to come get my parents and kids and take them somewhere.
Later that morning in court she proceeded to tell the judge I raped and beat her and I had to sit like a statue while the judge stared me down like a serial killer.
During the break I went into the bathroom and threw up.
Luckily for me my lawyer asked the judge to order us to take drug and alcohol tests so we were both handcuffed and taken away for testing.
I lost my kids, house, car and income that day and stayed in a hotel room with my parents and kids that night and thought I was going to be saying goodbye to them.
+++
The next morning I got a call from my lawyer that the judge was really upset and wanted us both back in court immediately.
Went in and judge began to apologize profusely and tell me she realized my wife was inconsistent in her stories and her BAC at 10am + other things in her system made her realize what was really going on and reversed everything she had ruled on the day before.
So I had the biggest 2 day rollercoaster of my life.

2nd worst day was 11/8/2016 starting at approximately 9:50 pm. That's when Trump was projected the winner in Florida, and I knew it was over. It's pretty much been a nightmare ever since.
At least your mom was able to pass without knowing her son was a complete pussy

If that's the worst day you ever had than you're lucky
My best friend was murdered while I was in the Navy. They wouldn't let me take leave to go to the funeral because he wasn't immediate family.

When I had to plan my son-in-laws funeral. When my daughter flung herself on the casket right before he was lowered in the ground, I had to hold her so she would not fall in the hole.

The results of a presidential election gave you the second worst day of your life? Congrats on the awesome life.

Watching a very close family member die of cancer. The nurses turned off her life support, and watching her heartbeat gradually tumble down to 0 BPM was the most traumatic thing I’ve experienced.

The day my 2-week old daughter died.
She was in NICU with CDH and at just past midnight on September 19, 2014 what little lungs she did have collapsed and the doctors gave us the "there's nothing more we can do" talk. We kept her on life support until my mom could get in from Texas. They took her off the machine and removed all the wires and tubes and we were able to hold her for the first and only time.
She died in our arms and almost exactly 4 years later, it still feels like a dream.
We stayed in the room with her for a while and then when we couldn't hold our bodies up anymore, we left.
It's such a strange feeling to go into a hospital with a pregnant wife and then just walk out 2 weeks later without a baby. There's really no preparation for that scenario.
Anyway, we are managing now and we have an amazing 7 year old boy who keeps us on our toes, but it's hard not to think about how different our lives would be had she lived.
I pray I never experience a day worse than that. I hope I've paid my dues.

Toss up between having to tell my mother her husband (stepfather) had been killed in a car accident and father dropping dead from a heart-attack (CPR and a whole lot of fricking miracles brought him back, but that day sucked hard).

When my 18 mo old daughter started started the day dancing and singing and by the end of a day was in a coma. A brain infection left her severely disabled and now she can’t talk or walk and has a shortened life expectancy.

I was stationed over seas and got the call that my best friend died in a car accident.
He was spending the night at his girlfriend's house and they got into an arguement after they had been drinking that night. He left in his mustang (stupid) and wrapped his car around a tree about 3 miles down the road from her house and died instantly.
shite day

My uncle shot himself and I was closest to where my cousin was going to college. I had to go tell him his dad was gone.

I was kidnapped when I was 7 and beaten to within an inch of my life by a neighbor a few houses down. So yea, pretty shitty day at that time.
Dude, seriously?! Wtf!!! That’s crazy.

In March when my dad died. He had been in the hospital a few weeks at the time. I was at work and my mom called and said he had gone into vfib and they had to start CPR. Hauled arse to the hospital from work but he was gone. I miss the hell out of him.
