Why do they broadcast what you should be doing during a hurricane when nobody has power

To watch the tv? I’m here in Florida where there is no hurricane and the people on tv are telling me what to do. The people in the middle of the hurricane have no power so they cannot watch what the people on tv are telling them what the should be doing.

During Hurricane Charley the news stations were broadcasting on the local radio stations. I had no power but was able to listen to the updates.
Same happened last year with Irma.

Because they are telling people who are interested in what is happening with the hurricane so that they can prepare for when one hits them.

Why do they have signs advertising braille menus at mcdonalds?

So if you were the manager at the station during a hurricane, would you just shut it down, run Roseanne reruns, or what?
