Ted Cruz is an idiot whose signature accomplishment was forcing a government shutdown. He hasn’t suddenly become a good senator.

Don’t worry. Georgia was supposed to go purple by electing Michelle Nunn. Purdue says hi.

Pretty genius to run a Ivy league educated Irishman as "Beto" to get votes. He won't win but I'd bet the uniformed voter has no idea he isn't Hispanic. I like telling people about "Beto" that have no idea and watch them laugh.

It's a valid point

Look Texas is so much more successful than my stupid state. They must be all idiots overnight because they might vote for someone else.

It's not really a valid point

The policies that Beto will pursue are the same that are pushing Fortune 500s out of places like California and into Texas.

Booming economy. Damn near everything going right in the state. An example of the prosperity low taxes and capitalism can bring.

But the voters are continually pushing Texas purple to the point some beta douche guy running for Senate will come within single digits of one of the best Senators.

Boggles the mind.

It's mind-boggling that the successful people that are relocating to Texas don't want to vote for some backwards arse Republican?

A lot of people are relocating from states like California and still voting for the terrible policies that drove them to leave in the first place.

This. The most popular destinations for people fleeing California, New York, and New Jersey are:

Texas
Florida
Tennessee
Nevada

All of these will be strictly Blue States in the future.

Those successful people are fleeing over high costs of living due to taxes and overregulation

Care to guess why Texas has killed it economically for the past 50 years?

I personally do find it amazing how many democrats move from places like California, NY, NJ, and Illinois to sunbelt and mountain west states and never question why the states they are leaving are having the problems they are having, and why the states they are moving to are enticing.

shouldnt the "drain the swamp" crowd appreciate a candidate who doesnt take money from PACs? thats what you want, isnt it? so why isnt Cruz doing that? super PACs are actually the ones paying for his negative ads attacking O'Rourke. is that good or bad?

I don’t think I’ve ever seen one. Guess they are staying out of San Antonio. Can’t blame them.

Some more places than others, Texas being one place that has more than other places.

There's a reason conservatives like illegal immigrant labor, it keeps operating costs down.

He has gone by Beto since he was a young lad. Such is the life of south Texas.

The truth is, he's a nasty guy. He was so nice to me. I mean, I knew it. I was watching. I kept saying, 'Come on Ted. Let's go, okay.' But he's a nasty guy. Nobody likes him. Nobody in Congress likes him. Nobody likes him anywhere once they get to know him. He's a very –- he's got an edge that's not good. You can't make deals with people like that and it's not a good thing. It's not a good thing for the country. Very nasty guy.

Donald Trump, in an interview on This Week (January 17, 2016)

If you killed Ted Cruz on the floor of the Senate, and the trial was in the Senate, nobody would convict you.

Lindsey Graham, February 26, 2016, as quoted in Lindsey Graham jokes about how to get away with murdering Ted Cruz (CNN.com)

Lucifer in the flesh, I have Democrat friends and Republican friends. I get along with almost everyone, but I have never worked with a more miserable son of a bitch in my life.

John Boehner, when asked his opinions on Ted Cruz during an appearance at Stanford University.

I just agree with these guys.
