Joel Klatt: "LSU Wasn't As Dominant as the Score Suggests"

Just saw this posted: LINK
Appearing on a Houston radio station on Wednesday, Fox Sports analyst Joel Klatt said he was not very impressed with LSU in their win over Miami on Sunday night.
"We all want to make (LSU) the world beaters now, but it wasn't necessarily as dominant a game as it looked on the scoreboard. The stat sheet, everything else will tell you that," said Klatt.
"Did you know that LSU was only 3 of 16 on third downs? 3 of 16! Let's say Miami has half the number of penalties and doesn't turn the ball over, maybe it's a different game."

I kind of agree. On the other hand, Miami scored some garbage touchdowns on some ridiculous plays down the field.

That’s his problem. He only saw the stat sheet and probably didn’t watch the game.

Yes...and IF my grandma had balls she'd be my grandpa! Just saying...

Everyone is entitled to an opinion, but that guy is a fricking moron.
I get downvoting for saying we had a dominating win too?

Joel views this as a negative. I view this as LSU dominating an opponent without really playing all that well.

I hope we have 11 more regular season non-dominant wins just like this one!

Joel Klatt had something negative to say about LSU? Next thing, you'll tell me Pete Thamel has a negative LSU column. Or Barrett Sallee has a negative LSU tweet.
I, for one, am shocked.

Maybe? Of course it's a different game. What a dumbass comment

I kind of agree too. We won some games in 2011 like that.

We can talk until we're blue in the face about how impressive or unimpressive certain stats were. Bottom line is we were up by 30 in the 2nd half. That is dominant no matter how you slice it. Our defense clearly dominated their offense. I didn't really expect our offense to dominate their defense, but they obviously did enough to get us a comfortable win.

Valid criticism, because that number sucks.

Let's say Miami has half the number of penalties
That's something under Miami's control, not LSU's. At this point we can't make a determination as to what a more disciplined Miami team would look like against anyone. And we'll never get to see what they would have looked like against LSU.

and doesn't turn the ball over
I can't get on board with this. It's like the turnovers just happened because Miami let them happen. The defense was out there playing too Joel.

i disagree with him on this, but i do like him and think he offers good points most of the time.
Analysts arent always 100% right, its no big deal. Most of America knows we dominated that game, no matter what a random analyst or writer says

So he clearly looked at the stats sheet without watching the game. Because that was a good old fashioned arse whippin.

It’s perfect! Keep them playing with a chip on their shoulders. Say what you want about coach O but he’s great at motivating when his team is the underdog.

It's like when people try to claim a win in baseball isn't as valid because the losing team kicked the ball all over the field. Playing defense is a part of baseball, just like playing disciplined and mistake-free football (e.g. minimizing penalties and turnovers) is part of football.

Who da f$ck is Joel Klatt, and why should anyone give a Fu$ck about his opinion?
Honest question. Never heard of this Douche Bag before.

Honestly it could've been a lot worse than it was. We pretty much went back to the hotel with 2 min left in the first half.

Lets say at the same time LSU converts 100% 3rd Downs...
