You are really serious with this aren't you?

I don't get the downvotes here. He had 140 yards. Thats not heisman.

Surv1vor1st - you are the epitome of a nega-tiger. For Burrow, it was his poise that stood out - checked into Brossette TD, drew Miami offside twice, threw ball away when in trouble. All in 1st collegiate game.

I give him credit for those plays. But overall he was below average.

His stats looked to be on par for an LSU QB.

The sample size was too small for me to really get excited. He did some things, but the coaches didn’t ask him to do too much.

I actually really liked the routes our guys were running to find the soft spots in zone coverage.

It wasn't just on Joe Burrow though. I'm not sure LSU fans realize that it takes the OL, WRs, RBs and the QB to become "elite". The WRs that he has time working with he's accurate with. That's the nature of the game. I'm hoping this game tells all the WRs that it pays to out time in with your QB.

The OL will get much better too. This was a vote of confidence for the entire offense to start the season against an aggressive, veteran defense and be able to drive the ball like we did. I think next week is going to be a 63-7 type of game from these guys. Only reason we don't run up the score is if we just didn't want to do it. Putting the 3rd team in with 2nd string QB. We'll see.

I think Joe Burrow is a better QB than Stidham is. Stidham gets nervous and tries to do too much sometimes. Burrow is very calculated. Maybe the most calculated QB in the SEC. If this offense gets its timing down with the OL gaining the confidence it needs, we will blow the doors off of some teams. We can also beat the better teams.

I am not a nega-tiger. I'v been saying for weeks that these people picking miami are going to eat crow and that Miami cant hold a candle to us.

I think he played well. But not heisman. Thats stupid.

He is owed a TD because Chase was in.

To say I'm a nega-tiger because I said our QB throwing 140 yards isnt Heisman caliber is you being a homer and a dumb one at that.

He set the tone with that audible sending NB 50 yards untouched to the end zone.

You just refuse to understand that this was his first Start EVER in a collegiate game. Against a top 10 team. For Christ sakes give the kid a couple of games.

He’s almost as good as Brandon Harris when he was backup.

After his "fumble" - he casually walked the sidelines without giving it a second thought. Never see that stuff
Probably because it was an obvious incompletion from the get go.

Best QB since Joe Montangea.

But seriously he’s the best since Mett and he’s not a statue. We can win a lot of ball games with Joe at the helm. Perfect scenario to groom Brennan, while he also packs on about 75 pounds. 6’5 190 isn’t gonna get it done.

I agree wholeheartedly. So glad Joe didn't hire Jimbo Fisher or Tom Herman.

Look, I'll give you Miami was the worst 8th ranked team of all time save for #3 Michigan getting beat by App St.

But you're a fricking retard, save for making Rain Man look like Einstein

the guy played his first significant role in a game in approximately two years. I thought he handled himself well at the line of scrimmage and he seemed pretty calm doing so for someone with as little Practice time as he has had.

I thought he played a fine game. Actually a very good game. i wasn't trying to put him down with my post. All I was doing was pointing out that he wasn't any better "stat" wise, then any other quarterback we've had over the past few years.

A stat line of 11 of 24 for 138 yards is pretty much what we've become accustomed to over the years. No offense to Burrow. It was his first game and I'm positive he'll get better as the season progresses.

It's similar to Danny Ethlings first couple of games. He was 6-14 for 100 yards in his first game (after 2 years between actual game snaps) and improved to 19-30 for 215 yards in his second game.

That stats sound about right with having 4 drops and a couple batted balls. Stats will come as His accuracy impressed me as much as the poise.

he had 4 drops and threw 5 balls away to avoid a sack, so 9 of his 13 incompletions fell under this umbrella

2 more were batted, and a 3rd was a perfect pass to Sullivan up the right sideline that was broken up by the DB.
