Eric Bischoff Is Surprised People Care About Wcw 20 Years Later

Professional wresting was at its apex during the famed "Monday Night Wars" between WWE's "Monday Night Raw" and WCW's "Monday Nitro" from September 1995 until March 2001, when WWE acquired WCW. That arguably ended the hottest time period in the history of sports entertainment.

That reign of "83 Weeks" would later become the name of Bischoff's new podcast, which has regularly come in as the No. 1 or 2 wrestling podcast since debuting four months ago.

No Sting with a baseball bat, no care.

There is enough talent out there now for 2 BIG promotions.
Yet Raw,Smackdown/205 & NXT have a plethora of talent.

Bro...that wasn't the 83 weeks they are referring to....that was the entirety of the Monday Night Wars.
The 83 weeks started in 96 with the NWO and ended in early 98 when Austin v McMahon became the hottest act ever in wrestling.

I'm interested to see how AllIn is received.....I mean we know it is sold out at over 10K which is more than any pro wrestling event in the US not promoted by Vince McMahon since WCW under Bischoff.
I have to figure if the buys are what they think they might be on FiteTV and the event is well received that Cody could get some contacts to gauge his interests on booking some real TV.

At one time, WCW had the following guys on their roster:
Flair
Sting
Hogan
Hall
Nash
Luger
Giant
Piper
Macho Man
DDP
Double A
Steiners
Pillman
Benoit
Sullivan
Eddie
Malenko
Jericho
Mysterio
Booker T
And I know I'm missing some names. It's crazy how much talent was down South in the mid-1990's, only for the company to be bankrupt 5 years later.

Is this from the OTGT at Woodrow’s in Houston?

If that's not a stacked roster, I don't know what is.

WCW was 10X better
They had the best writers and guys who were creative. And when they needed a jolt, they got the NWO going, and shite got real, WCW kicked WWF in the balls.

Somewhere, you're sitting and searching for this type of news. Wrestling news.
Let that sink in.

No mid south no care.

In 92 thru 96, wcw was neck and neck. And then in 97, they took the lead.
In 93, some great wcw feuds...
VADER vs. Cactus Jack
Barry Windham vs. Dustin Rhodes
Orndorff vs. Van Hammer
The Hollywood Blondes vs. Steamboat and Douglass

Back then, it was a soap opera for Men. Then WWE pushed WCW out, and WWE became boring and shite.
