What's the latest in iPhone vs Android?

Not really. Go with whatever OS you're comfortable with. I've done both and much prefer Android, but it's really just preference. Both OSs do the same things these days.

If you've been Android for a decade then I doubt it.

Generally I'd say to switch back and forth and give the other side a shot, but that's a long time invested in one OS.

Wow. I'm in the same situation as well (I still have a galaxy s3). I'm thinking about moving to the iphone 8 as the form factor and facial stuff on the iphone X is less appealing to me.

A bunch of my friends are in the apple ecosystem, so things like imesg work work that. I'm OS agnostic, but very few of my friends are still on Android, so will probably switch just due to convenience.

It really just depends. Of course you will have your fan boys on each side.

I’ve swapped between the two 4 times over the years. Android Apple Android Apple.

I will now be sticking with Apple. Every single person in my social circle has iPhones. And we have multiple group messages. I use FaceTime with my kids and other family. I tried going to the Note 7 a couple years ago. And while I felt the phone itself was superior I couldn’t stand the OS. luckily I was able to return it with the recall and get the Iphone7. I will be upgrading this fall to the X Plus.

Being in a group text with mixed OS is annoying because all the Apple guys feel the need to "like" "laughed at" "loved" etc a specific text and if you are a po on Android it repeats the message every time someone reacts to it.

I have been on Android since day 1 and don't ever see myself switching to iPhone unless I get invested in the iOS ecosystem via an iPad someday.

Both systems are great at this point. Any new feature is copied by the other within a year or two.

Android = Note 9
Apple = Iphone X

Like others have said it's all user preference, Note 9 is a great phone had it since day before launch since I preordered, wife has a iPhone X and it's really just like any other iPhone with a couple tricks. I prefer The note over any phone every year I use the S-pen alot and its bluetooth connected now with some cool new features, most of my friends have iPhone but I didnt buy my phone for them. Go with what u like and be happy

iMessage really is the gold standard of texting apps. It's only possible because of Apple's closed environment. Google Allo could be good if it had better SMS integration.

Me too. I agree overall that both are about on par now.

I've never had imessage, so I don't care about being able to "like" texts.

I still think the best thing iOS has that Android doesn't is Airdrop. It simply is a superior way to share photos and other things. Google Photos is really good also, but they still don't have the phone-to-phone local transfer functionality.

Not having FaceTime is irrelevant - just use Duo (which is installable on iOS.)

Especially if you have a Nexus/Pixel device, I continue to believe that Android is the best trade-off, all things considered. The app drawer is big for me too.
