I still find it mind-boggling how a coach casts all of that aside after one bad performance.

PTSD from 2008.

So our coach outcoached Saban. I'll take it.
And by the end of the 4th qtr, Bama Def was exhausted, LSU was running on them pretty easily.

Only weakness on 2011 LSU was at QB. Everything else was electrifying.

Before that season half the fans were panicking. Just lost JJ for a few games, opening with Oregon, lots of new faces on the field

You're going to be sorely disappointed this season.

That LSU team and that Alabama teams were insane. Unfortunately they were the same year.

Ultimately this was Miles's downfall. It just so happened that the best coach in the history of college football was coaching at the same time that he was, and in the same division.

Our downfall that year was frickin Okie State losing to Iowa State in the last regular
Season game. We would have crushed OSU in the Championship game!

So Les outcoached him?

And what decision(s) did Les make in that game that helped him outcoach Saban?

You obviously didn't watch the game if you think the reid interception could have went either way. It was 100% an interception.
No Ihomas Ritter said it was a Alabama catch.

Nah. I thought that was back in 2007.

Maybe so, someone must have resurrected it during the 2011 season on Finebaum show.

Yes you are right, I heard it in 2011 on King's show.

With that schedule nobody was saying “we should be happy with 8 wins”. My how times have changed.

Took Alabama to beg to play us twice just to beat this team!

I blame Les Miles for the lose in the Championship and most importantly that the game even happened. Before he even got off the field he made the comment that he would welcome a rematch. When he should have deflected the question immediately after the game. Then the next day start the campaign that we already beat them on their home field. We have nothing more to prove.

One of the hardest schedules of all time and we destroyed every team not named Bama. We were one win away from being in the conversation for GOAT college team with Miami and Nebraska. Resume is absurd and nearly also included the Big 12 champs.

SEC Champions

Beat the following:

National champions
Pac 12/Rose Bowl champs
Big East/Orange Bowl champs
Cotton Bowl champs
Peach bowl champs

Les’s downfall actually was winning the game of the century. It took the Reid INT, a 70 yd Wing punt, and a shitty Alabama kicker to win.

But Miles thought it meant that the hard nosed running game could win if you just tried hard enough. He didn’t change his plan for the BCSNCG while Saban decided to come out throwing the ball. Les kept the same plan for the next 4+ seasons, and it was enough to win 80% of the time, but it doesn’t get you over the hump anymore
