twitter thinks that he is flipping on Trump for sures Maddow told them so.

I think both the SC and Cohen see how risky a trail would be by looking at how screwed up the Manafort trial has become.

Both take their "win" and plead out.

More surprised at how many of these are financial crimes and how nothing is tied to politics...

You are confused sir. A plea deal is ANY TIME a defendant agrees to plead guilty in exchange for a certain sentence. The motivation for accepting the deal is irrelevant.

Now, that being said, it is certainly true that some in the media are once again being dishonest and pretending that simply because a plea deal was reached that proves that Cohen flipped on the President.

In actuality that's not how that works at all. Prosecutors normally do one of two things when they want testimony from one person about another person. Either they A) offer full immunity (and you can bet someone who had proof that Trump committed a crime would be offered full immunity) or they secure a conviction and then offer a recommendation for reduced sentencing, rarely is the plea deal ever used to get cooperation, if ever because why would someone agree to spend ANY time in prison in exchange for proof that the President, in this case, committed a crime? NO one one, any reasonable lawyer would say "nah nah we get immunity if you want that"
