Interesting. Husky stadium and CenturyLink Field (Seahawks) are two loudest football stadiums and they’re in the Pacific Northwest. Not exactly a football hotbed.
I just can't see Husky Stadium being that loud. But Century Link was actually designed to hold in the sound.

Husky Stadium (Washington) and Autzen Stadium (Oregon) are phony entries. Both have huge metal roofs that overhang the stadiums on both sides of the field, bouncing the sound down. So the registered decibel level includes not just the true crowd noise but also the reflection of the same noise. Take those roofs away and both stadiums plummet down in the ranking.

Record will be set either uga or bama game

Wish they had that for 07 auburn or Florida.

You must really have a crush on o Ree. Every post you submit that has pictures has one or two of o, even when it's something that has absolutely nothing to do with the guy.
You can't seem to help yourself.

So many folks back in the homeland just don't understand that big-boy football is played in other parts of the country.
Boy, you got that right. Same way with baseball. Some of the people on here think that football and baseball are only played in the south.

UW is stacked this year and has one of the best coaches in the country.
I think Chris Petersen is one of the best coaches in football as well. Top 5 easily in my opinion. What he did at Boise State and what he's done at Washington in the short time he's been there is really impressive.

Their fans are like LSU and Tulane as far as hatred for WSU. It’s that bad.
It's probably a little more intense since they actually play each other.

The little microphones hanging from the roof (I seent ‘em) at UW reverberating sound to the speakers mounted under the roof probably help a little too.

Muh, we set off a Richter Scale.

The measurement of decibels can fluctuate. Let's measure Tiger Stadium excitement and the overall experience. "Changing meteorological
conditions can easily cause fluctuations in sound levels by 10-20 dB over time periods of
minutes. The longer the transmission path, the larger are the fluctuations in levels. Outdoor
sound propagation is affected by many mechanisms, including:
a) Source geometry and type (point, line, coherent, incoherent)
b) Meteorological conditions (wind and temperature variations, atmospheric turbulence)
c) Atmospheric absorption of sound
d) Terrain type and contour (ground absorption of sound, reflections)
e) Obstructions (buildings, barriers, vegetation, etc)"

seems like i read somewhere that 130 number came from the ‘07 Florida game.
the reaction to the USC loss that day is loudest thing i’ve ever heard in my life.

Husky stadium
Roof deflects the sound back in
Oregon has landscape to help them as they are below grade and have aluminum seats or some such that amplifies the sound.

To each their own, but it's not only sad, it's downright creepy.

Husky Stadium has a partial cover that helps reflect the sound back down.
It's also possible to party on your boat in the lake and then tie up to walk to the game.
