It seems like they are handing out autism diagnoses like candy these day for lots of things.

It is fricking crazy, kids that are hyper and don't pay attention well are "ADHD" and "on the spectrum"

Kids that have to wear a straight jacket in a rubber room and be tethered to a dog in public are also "on the spectrum

The disparity in symptoms is quite dramatic

When I was a kid, if they didn't know exactly what it was they were" retarded", today "autism" is the trendy diagnosis

My child has developmental speech delay and is super strong willed

No one will ever convince me that it is the same thing as kids I see that need 24 hour supervision so they don't hurt themselves

I'm angry, I don't want my baby on drugs

I really feel like this has more to do with controlling behavior than helping her

She does mind me better than anyone, and I understand she can be frustrating

But I'm pissed

And I'm committed to "trying this" (at 1ml per day for 2mos)

But I don't like it, hoping someone here has some insight...

your posting style

prompts me to ask you

have you been tested

to see where you fall

on the spectrum ?

and I'm no expert but just love her ( its obvious you do) and let her know that every day. Life is tough, but the one thing kids needs the most is their parents love and support

you got this
