I'm still not sure I know what it means. What is he waiving? I'm sure someone has explained it in one of the other threads, but hopefully someone will do it here too.

He’ll get the waiver

I understand people are pissed and they should be but people need to relax and let this play out .

If he gets the waiver, will be able to play at LSU? Or, will this be a waiver to leave the team and play for a juco etc?

So if he gets a waiver then is still deemed ineligible, will LSU be penalized for playing an ineligible player?

I was told that it means LSU is going to ask the NCAA to allow his reinstatement.

I don't know why LSU would get another chance to do this.

Waiver to maintain eligibility until court proceedings run their course.

I'm pretty sure he would be seeking an injunction in Federal Court, enjoining the enforcement of the NCAA rule that prohibits him from playing. if the injunction is granted and the Court agrees to hear the case, he could play in the interim.

just like VolTiger13 implied that he would get the decision overturned?

sure, lets all collectively get our hopes up again.

Hasn't this happened before in both leagues?

Hopefully he gets the waiver. I am still shocked by the 2 year thing at the college level. To me, had he actually failed the test and also tried cheating then I get the extra year.. but to pass the test and simply be caught attempting.. 1 year should suffice for that action. Especially considering he was, what, a true freshman.. I am sure 1 year is plenty enough time for him to learn his lesson here.

The guy thought it was going to happen, so did the coaches and Kristian's family.

I think his chances are good if you get it in front of a Fed Judge if I have the facts straight.

Ah, gotcha. An injunction or any legal action seems like quite a long shot but I guess that's all there is.

It’s either that or another full year of suffering. Sounds like mentally this whole ordeal is taking a big toll on him and his family.

yeah so did I. it was sound logic. why bother reopening the case just to say "no, yeah we got it right the first time"

but fool me once, shame on me. fool me twice...
