Oak Grove police officer arrested on rape charge

Investigators with the Louisiana State Police have arrested an Oak Grove police officer on charges of second-degree rape.
David Tyler Boyd, age 27, Lake Providence, worked for the city of Oak Grove for approximately three years.
In late July, the LSP Special Victims Unit received a complaint in reference to a teenager being raped by a man in East Carroll Parish.
During this investigation, it was revealed Boyd had sexual intercourse with a teenager. On Aug. 6, 2018, Boyd was arrested in Oak Grove and later transferred to River Bend Correctional Center in Lake Providence where he was charged with second-degree rape.

This morning we learned from one of our affiliate stations that 27 year old Tyrone Williams murdered 16 year old Christy McClintock of Mandeville, Louisiana, in her parents home after an apparent burglary and ensuing struggle. We reached out to Mandeville Police Department for comment. Chief Overtyme gave this statement,

Probably not a lot of single ladies to choose from in Oak Grove. He probably cozied up to her before his cousin or uncle had a go. Small town La at it's finest.
