Morning Joe: "Strong Economy" Is Part Of Ongoing Obama Recovery, Not Trump

MSNBC 'Morning Joe' host Scarborough questions the common assumption that a thriving economy will lead to political victory for the incumbent party, saying President Obama should be given more credit for the "strong economy" than President Trump.
"Yeah, it's a strong economy," he said. "But Mika, this is not an economy that Donald Trump gave us. This is an economy that's part of the seven-year ongoing recovery."
Scarborough also said that this "isn't close to the greatest economy ever" and "Barack Obama had more people getting jobs his last 16 or 18 months than they had jobs during Donald Trump's first 16 or 18 months."
"In the midterms, it is not always the economy stupid. That is in presidential years," he added.

Did you watch the opening segment? Mika and Joe were breaking down the latest Gallup polls and the conclusion was Trump was elected POTUS because his core supporters are uneducated white rednecks. I broke the poll data down a little further and concluded the most intelligent folks voting during the 2016 GE were folks without a college degree who were not influenced/indoctrinated by a Prog/Dim progressive university environment.

He is correct. The Republican propoganda machine never gave Oboma any credit for anything. Trump inherited a strong US economy from Obama which created more jobs in 2016 than Trump in 2017 as an example. With the massive tax cuts, Trump enhanced the economy and also deserves credit with the Republican Congress for getting this bill through which is the catalyst for economic success. Of course the deficit is spiraling out of control, but no one is talking about this major problem.
