Man, Hodson had a gun. I didn't know this game existed.

Is this the game that Earl Bruce would not bring his team out first. The refs made LSU come out first or they would receive a 15 yard penalty.

I have forever hated OSU for this bush league shite.

Very quick release, and he was very confident and decisive.

The Stadium in those days rocked from start to finish.

We were yelling our asses off during the game. I recall a lot of Spielman Sucks!

After a win, folks usually file out celebrating and high fiving. After a loss, they grumble and bitch.

But after that tie, it was just dead silent as people left. Very odd.

Odd but relevant perspective for a kid. I was 12. I was home on Friday nights playing my Sega and often recording 102.5 and 94.5 dance music from the clubs.
At the time 102.5 was broadcast from a place where Shucks on the Levee is now. I can remember for years having that very weekend on tape. The DJ mentions the LSU game... "the Tigers are taking on Ohio State Tomorrow".

I think it’s strange that when I watch older college football games it seems like every time somebody makes a nice play they jump up and run around with two fists in the air. Kind of weird how popular that was, imo

Kind of a mixed bag, and frustrating as heck. Tigers started off strong but could never pull away from the Buckeyes. It seemed like the Tigers dominated, but mistake after mistake turned it into a nailbiter at the end.

This was the first game I got the sense that Archer wasn't a good coach.

Was the game Andolsek and Speilman almost fought at the coin toss. Later became close teammates on the Lions. Really hot that day. Bo Pelini played in that game.

Side note.....Earl Bruce’s grandson is the wife beater assistant coach who got Urban in this heap of shite.

Yep it was. Speilman spit in Eric's face at the coin toss after they got into words. He said the eulogy at Eric's funeral.

I was in the South Endzone 3 rows up. It was hot as oh hell. My buddy bust out a Tiger Striped rolled doobie

I was in school at that time and in the student section. We had players getting IV's at halftime. If I remember correctly, Spielman had 16 solo tackles that game. He was a beast! Great game.

I was there. That game was LOUD.

Tupa goes under center for the first play and can't hear a thing, steps back an looks at the ref, and the place gets even louder. The sound had a physical weight to it. Unreal.

Agree on mood leaving stadium being oddly quiet.

Alabama was worse in 1985.

Unfortunately for me, those were my first two LSU games.

Literally 0-0-2.
