re: Arsenal 18/19 Season Thread

It's been very easy to only half pay attention, as we don't do anything all that well, nor are we all that pretty to watch. I would rather Wengerball than the nonsense we had to see during the last half of the season.

Seriously, you think Kroenke gives a rats arse? He just upped and moved an NFL franchise from his home state. He’s a cold hearted mofo who likes to count his money. Arsenal fans need to boycott period. Don’t buy tickets and merch. Hit his pocketbook hard.

im on board with the kroenke boycott, not like arsenal will be competing for championships or CL anytime soon.
The vibe is stale, no feeling of forward movement, just more of the same
actually hope the team tanks if it meant Kroenke sells his shares and removes himself from the club

As long as Arsenal is within Europe and selling out their stadium, nothing is going to change. Hate to burst your pipe dream. Welcome to WalMarks.

Yeah we know. We need many tiny miracles to happen in order to be competitive again.

I refuse to buy any Arsenal merchandise, see a game live, or give any monetary support to the club until shite starts changing. Might be a while

I did the same thing with USMNT tix and merch after the debacle in Trinidad. I occasionally watch them on TV, but I’ve boycotted as much as I can. I’m not premium prices for dogshit quality.

Josh addressed the fans. Obviously he said a bunch of stuff we want to hear but at least I realize they aren't tone deaf.
Also a lot of Spanish outlets this morning saying we will get Dani Ceballos on a 1 year loan from Madrid. Would def be a cheap option to help us out in central midfield.

Watts just tweeted that we are progressing nicely on talks for him. Very hopeful that the deal goes through... would be season long loan

How about the rumors of the Brazilian Everton? He was the only player on Brazil’s Copa roster that was not currently in Europe and was pretty impressive all tournament. Would be a nice pick up on the wing.

We still haven’t signed the 18 yr old defender were sending back on loan for a year from 3 weeks ago. I don’t believe anything until it’s official.

As of today, and acknowledging that it is preseason, this team looks very strong. The youngsters are coming of age and the defense looks organized and are working hard, The offense looks terrifying. But, again, it is only preseason against the best team in Germany and a top ten Italian team.

I haven't been able to watch any games. Can someone give me an overview of who has looked good?

The good
Nkeitah has been our best player. Has shown good pace, power, movement. Also his finishing has been impressive.
Willock - Continuing where he left off last season. Great on the ball. Good passer and makes good runs in the box. Scored a nice goal against Fiorentina.
Saka - Has shown tremendous dribbling ability. Direct and can combine with his fullback. Also played some nice passes and had a chipped goal against The Rapids.
Martinelli - Good pace, physicality, and technical ability. Direct with a great work rate. Needs to work on his finishing but it's not like he is Iwobi bad. Can see him improving it.
Laca and Auba have been sharp.
Xhaka looked great against Bayern but was sloppy in his short appearance against Fiorentina
Both Leno and Martinez have been really good also.
The Bad
Nelson - Hasn't shown much yet. He is talented though and it's early.
Mustafi - As is tradition Mustafi is a complete liability. Get him out of the club.
AMN - Coman from Bayern absolutely ripped him to shreds. We need someone at RB until Hector is healthy.
Monreal - Struggled in the back 3 against Fiorentina. Age has caught up with him it appears but it's just preseason. Maybe he can pull it together.
Jenkinson - Can not get a good cross in to save his life.

Gareth Bale. If we had the money to spend £70 Mill I bet he could be ours.
