Texas Longhorn fans, how's the rebuild under Herman going?

Some people just remember the goofy sledgehammer gif and the bad opening loss to Maryland, but Herman reminds me a lot of our hoops coach Will Wade and I know he'll have y'all winning soon. Texas was one of the few Big 12 teams to actually play defense last year.
What are your expectations this season? Other than Oklahoma, I'm not sure how good the rest of the Big 12 will be in 2018.

Well after the embarrassment against Maryland, Texas lost four games by 5 points or less and had late leads in all those games. 7-6 season is similar to how UW went 7-6 in 2015 before going 12-1 in 2016 before losing to Bama in the playoff.
Does Texas make that jump and become a playoff team? Lol no. But can they go 9-3 and win a bowl to get to 10 wins? Hopefully.
eta - Saban went 7-6 his first year at Bama. Year 2 will show more about Herman than year 1 did.

People are tearing them to shreds for losing to Maryland, but the Terps would have been a 8-9 win team last year if they weren't on their third string QB by their third game.
Wouldn't be surprised to see Maryland beat them again and Texas go on to win 9 games anyways.

I think this result is more likely TBH. No hate, just how I see it. And I wouldn't be shocked by an opening loss to Maryland either.

5 or 6 wins, lost a lot on D and until Herman proves he can build an offense to outscore other offenses in the conference I'd temper the expectations, which the sips have finally learned to do somewhat it seems.
