AD at New Mexico. They just cut 4 sports, recruiting trips, etc. due to budget constraints. Wonder if he wishes he was still at LSU, waiting for JA to get The Boot?

Eddie will always land on his feet. Smart guy and seems to always be a step ahead. We will see him at an SEC school sooner than you think.

No doubt Eddie, we believe in you

Yeah, been big news here last few days....he inherited a s**tshow.... hopefully, he can hire a really good basketball coach when he gets the chance, historically huge basketball school

Eddie is probably going to be OK. He is surrounded by his favorite thing, college age women

It’s men’s and women’s skiing, men’s soccer, and women’s beach volleyball.
Title IX really fricked shite up. You force the football and basketball teams to support their sports. Women’s sports just don’t take in the cash at a school like UNM.
At LSU, gymnastics is great, and women’s hoops COULD be. Otherwise, what women’s sports generate revenue?
I’m not saying that they shouldn’t exist, but I’m surprised New Mexico is facing backlash.

Neither turn a profit

No women's sport at LSU makes money. Does any women's sport at ANY university make a profit?
Posted on 7/21/18 at 8:46 am to IAHTiger
I think at one point maybe Tennessee women’s basketball was making money

UCONN women basketball I imagine does. Could be wrong though

There is a difference between generating revenue and turning a profit. Women's basketball will never be profitable, but it is capable of drawing a LOT more revenue which would make it less un-profitable..

Both of these are correct.

That’s a good start
If you want more, ask anyone who works for the athletic dept or any coach for a sport Eddie oversaw

+1
Some of these programs wouldn't be such money drainers if they were ran correctly.
Most athletic programs men or women outside of football and basketball don't turn a profit but does generate very decent revenue if ran accordingly.

Not sure what it is this year but
quote:
UConn’s women’s basketball program turned a modest profit of just $1.3 million during the school’s 2016 fiscal year, according to Department of Education data
Now unfortunately most women basketball programs will never turn a profit like that unless they are ungodly good like UCONN and win that much every year. I think Tennessee used to make a little bit of profit, not a whole lot but some under Summitt. Not so much now though with the new coach
