here's my thing. if Meuller felt solid about his case against Manafort, why would he offer immunity to Podesta?
either his case is weak or this is a political favor

the political optics are potentially massive, too. the poles are already set but middle America doesn't seem to be buying "muh Russians" AND you're letting the whole "Podesta" name become a potentially major "gotcha" for the right (the name is associated with HRC even though they're brothers)
