My dad made me dip some in roofing tar mixed with gasoline.

Alario's in Westwego sells a dipping agent.

Years ago, the go-to was copper naphthenate (sp?) It turned the white nylon twine green and kept it from dry-rotting for a long time.
ETA: Looked on-line and Lowes sells it.

If flex seal isn't the answer for this, I don't know what is.

That's the stuff that Alario's has.

I bought a gallon of the stuff they dip shrimp trawls in, put it in a trash bag and put the nets in, sealed it, flipped it about once an hour for 4-5 hours and let it soak, took them out and let them drip dry, have had the nets about 15 years, no problems

Any body of water you think might have crabs, baited with fish heads of course!

Crabs are the dumbest animals on the planet. Save some money and just chunk them in the water as is.

net dip at a net shop. Mix with gas to thin it. I used to use a cheap plastic kiddie pool to dip my hoop nets in.

Sounds like a good idea. I was sitting here wondering what to use until I read your post.

I set it up under a tree. Tie a rope to the tail end, and throw it over a limb. Let the net collapse in the pool and soak. (only enough dip to cover net.) Then you can pull up on the rope to stretch the net so it can dry. Just tie the rope off to something. You can get a buddy to help you pour the dip back in the can so as not to waste.

Has nothing to do with the crabs, its so the nets last longer.

2 parts paraffin wax, 1 part menhaden oil...
Might not last quite as long as other treatments, but will make your nets more productive.
