Early or short easy runs. I slept in this morning and will run at lunch. I know it's going to feel like 100+ so I bring water and keep it under an hour.

I've toughed it through this summer and have continued to do lunchtime runs up until a few days ago when the heat was finally too much and had to shift my runs.

Ended up doing 5 with a few strides. It wasn't completely terrible. I pick a route that has quite a bit of shade to break up the death ball in the sky. Water was gone after mile 4 which kind of sucked. Also noticed my tan is on point right now, just in time for beach vacation next week.

Putting it here now to help hold myself accountable. I’m running a marathon by February. That is all. Just putting it here, because it worked for my half marathon when I put it down in January. I’ve slacked off this summer and ready to get back. I went from not running in 15 years in January to finishing a half marathon in May at 8:09/mile. Running the marathon would be a huge milestone for me and it’s time for me to get going.

Go get em Chip. I might be with you.

Haven’t ran in 9 days due to illness. I literally think I forgot how to run...probably won’t start back until Sunday.

I ran at 7 AM in Houston this morning and the humidity actually made me throw up. I haven’t thrown up when running since HS. I have no idea how you people in the SE do it.

What type of white nonsense is it that you have to warn people in the gulf that they might actually enjoy being outside for a minute or two? Low humidity warning is the craziest shite I’ve ever seen.
This morning’s workout was all over the place.

5 miles easy this morning, kept it aerobic the whole time. Kind of feel like a dumbass that it took me 2 years to realize you don’t have to be a hero on every run haha

Having a blast running up near Acadia National Park in Maine. It’s been nice having a running partner for once too. My hip is still injured, but I haven’t really noticed it.

It has been. Looks like rain all day tomorrow, but I plan on getting one more in before leaving Friday. I saw a wolverine or fisher cat, several deer, wild turkey with chicks, and an eagle on my run this morning.

Hey y’all. I don’t post too often in this thread but lurk often.
For those of y’all who train for super long distance events like ultras, marathons, triathlons, etc. how much strength training are y’all incorporating with weights?
I find it difficult to incorporate everything I’d like to - running, cycling, and good non body weight strength work. Y’all always amaze me with the shite you post and are very welcoming so I figured this would be a good place to ask.

I’m doing two days of weighted body weight stuff. I need to just get a gym membership but I can’t bring myself to justify 8 days in the gym a month for the price

I usually run 5-6 days a week and do weight training 4 days a week. I try to do pushups/pullups/crunches throughout the day most days. It is difficult to keep all of it up consistently. I often have to prioritize.

Almost none. However, I do cross train. I do push-ups every day, I bike 20-30 miles per week, row 3000 meters 5 days a week, and my running miles average around 80 miles a week.
Pat, you giving this cat advice? I’ve never known you to not be injured. Come on, bruh. pulling your tit.
