Evereyone acts like Orgeron is holding this team back. If Les was still here would expectations be higher this year?

Look man... I don't care who the freaking coach is. It's LSU football, of course I would still be excited about the season. I mean, if you're a true tiger fan, no matter who the coach is, you should be excited for a new season of LSU football. Just my opinion tho.

Not really. You don’t remember the last 2-3 years of Les?

Well we would probably have Cam Akers or Travis Etienne, Patrick Surtain and Dylan Moses so yeah.
In all honesty Idk. I was petty broken on Les after the Wisconsin game. That team should have won a national title.
I have no idea what to expect from E so I have more hope of something different.
It didn’t have to be Les or O.

Look I dgaf who the headcoach is, as a Tiger, I'll still be excited for LSU football.
We could have Tim Frickin Tebow as HC and I'd still be counting the days to kickoff.

Holy shite, the season needs to start.

If les were here I think the program would be no better/no worse. So similar expectations.

I hate these kind of threads

Yes probably
When we’re Les’ preseason expectations ever this low?

I’m excited and Ed Orgeron is the coach it’s LSU football

Sure, because if he was still here, Cam would be gone and someone else would be running the offense anyway. Aranda still here and solid. Tell me what would really be different other than having a guy who has actually won some big games?

I would be more excited with Les here, b/c the program would be more sound.
But, I would recognize Les' lack of recent achievement, the gradual decline of the program and the need for a new, BETTER Head coach.
I can now see that would also require a new, BETTER AD...

We probably wouldn't have Burrow so no.
Regardless I think most people wanted Les gone. It's simply because of the lack luster hire and search for a top notch HC.
I understand people's frustration over that part. What I don't understand is why they have to keep harping on it like it's going to change or make anything better. Wins and loses will determine this staffs fate so all the complaining in the world will do nothing but put more pressure on the team and give credit to our foes.

Yes. Orgeron is an abomination of a coach. If you wanted to replace Les with Orgeron you are on crack. Les needed to go but Orgeron is such a huge downgrade its ridiculous.

I know I'm gonna be in the minority but I would be less enthusiastic about this team with him just knowing the offense would look exactly the same

Yes/no.
I say this as a fan who appreciated what Miles did and where he had the program: it WAS time for him to go, at least for the mood of the fanbase.
There were 2 things happening, that resulted in pure misery for the LSU community.
First is that expectations were sky-high. Miles BETTER have a national champ (the wailing about 1/9 proves it isn't just a contender, you better WIN). The first close game becomes signs of failure; the first loss ends all hope and joy for the season.
Second is the existence of Alabama. Objectively, they are going to beat us again, I think. I'm willing to say they will most likely win the national championship, again. I WANT to beat them, as I'm sure the rest of college football does. But I don't think they will lose; and they won't lose 2 games. And we've now established that they still get into the playoffs, even if someone catches them once during the season.
So in that setting, we'd be miserable. Ironically, I think we have a better record and a better team... but it wouldn't be enough.
O gives us lower expectations. Half the fanbase worries that the program might collapse; so in that setting, another 9 win season becomes an achievement. In other words, an early loss at Auburn wouldn't make this an unbearable year, whereas under Miles it would be "not again, he has to go". Now, it's ok if we lose.
