Anyone still play rocket league?

the more tired i get of pubg and fortnite the more tempting learning to play rocket league becomes.
its fun as hell with quick games and i know there has to be someone on here that can teach me how to git gud

I play occassionally but suck. If u dont know anyone who u can play with regularly then dont bother. Unless u get pro level good and can dominate without help from ur teamates, playing with randoms in this game is a beatdown. The only way to win consistently and rank up, for me at least, is to have a teamate that knows what i am doing without having to see you do it. Rotating backwards and forwards, setting up shots etc. Most randoms dont have mics so u cant communicate that way either. Just my opinion after playing quite a bit in the past and still getting my arse kicked.

I got back into last season after not having played since season 2. Just hit diamond rewards this season. It's my go-to competitive game right now.

That is one thing that bugs me. Even if you got your way though, and have people you regularly play with you still need to communicate well..which is diffiult.
And every now and then the other team gets lucky and your shots are not hitting.

If you want to get good, get some friends that are a much higher rank than you to play with. They'll have to do a lot of carrying, but you will get much better by playing against/with more skilled players.

the hard part is playing with randoms that won't center the ball for you or fail when you center for them.

If you're going to play solo it's always better to play more defensive. The other team can't win if they can't score. This doesn't mean sit back in goal (That's actually a terrible way to defend) but always be ready to head back and abandon offensive possessions instead of pushing trying to squeak a goal in. You'll be shocked how many goals you can score by getting a hard clear out of your own goal towards their goal. That alone will carry you through gold into about Plat 2. Again, this is only if you're wanting to try your luck solo and seem to be playing with people equal to your skill level. If you're clearly better than everyone else in the game, dominate the ball and speed the game up. Play fast and learn to set yourself up with wall passes.

This is my biggest pet peeve. People that just chase the ball around. If I'm clearly on it, there is no reason for you to be right behind me. Get in a position so I can center it to you for a shot.
