draft dodging is a sure way to prevent that

I graduated high school in 1968, and I can damn well assure you that there was no patriotic spirit re going to Vietnam. Most of us knew friends who got killed over there, and there was a lot of doubt about just what the hell was coming down. "Dodging" the draft by getting some sort of deferment, or lucking out in the lottery, or whatever...was the common sense norm.

I admire McCain's denying of his ticket out of that Prison, but He became corrupted by the DC power. That 'denial' was the high point of His life; the rest was an act...down from there. He and His Ilk are far worse for the Rule of Law and Constitutional Principle that DJT is. The only injustice in McCain's whole sordid scenario is that He won't live long enough to see Him and His Cabal exposed and discredited as the arrogant, mis-guided and high-minded hypocrites that they are.

Has it never made the mainstream media, even Fox news, that he was behind the IRS targeting conservatives?

I only saw that talked about here.

I'm no fan of McCain, but you gotta respect him not taking the low road when so many piled on over Obama's middle name and alleged Islamic heritage.

John McCain, with decency, and decorum, during the Oxford (MS) town hall debate, reaffirmed that his opponent is "a good man".

And McCain is a good man, IMHO. Who else could have endured 5 years of sheer hell in the hands of the Vietcong enemy?

But that’s the thing, he’s far from a good man. How many innocent lives did his funding of all the proxie wars in the Middle East cost? I mean he was behind the funding of ISIS for heavens sake!

No they weren't. A man was a man and a girl was a girl. The truth was the Vietnam conflict was immoral and should have never developed into full scale combat with American intervention.

Not my buds, DB. Country boys...raised working hard. I can't think of but a couple of nice guys (gay) who would not have taken it to the 'Cong if they had ended up there. I would not have made it back, if I'd went. I'll always feel grateful for them who did...and paid - and still do - dearly.

I suspect that McCain - looking over His life - would do a lot of things different, from now; though some forms of self-delusion can persist through the duration of breath. Most of us old guys would; at least those of us who find and worship the power of wisdom. The best we can hope for is that *we* can carry that gain forward, into the next life. That is my hope; I plan on coming out strong in the next one.

They don't care. So long as their moms bring their meals down to the basement they are happy.
