Looking for a new mallard call this season. Typically people carry more than one but end up having one that they favor more than the other.

What is the OB using?

Have you checked out the Riceland mallard calls? I haven’t heard of anybody using them. I was interested in them though.

Haydel's Redleg RL-99

That's my go-to. Easy to blow double reed that can get loud, be soft, and get raspy when I want it to.

DR-85. I am not a fan of the acrylic calls and we hunt rice fields so I need to be able to make some noise

Mallards don't come to Louisiana anymore, just ask those guys on Flyway Federation of Louisiana.

I have been using a bayou beast call made by Mr. Dale Bordelon and really like it.

I love the way a good cut-down Olt sounds. Probably as close to the sound of a real Mallard hen that you can get.
