Eaux did what his bosses told him they wanted and what his associate HC recommended.
I thought you said you weren’t there?
Now you’re saying he did what they told him to do. How do you know?
quote:
Ha Ha, yeah sure - call Tom Herman and offer the new UT coach a job as your OC. Funny !!!!
Were no other OCs nominated that are still coordinators? How about the top 25 offenses? Any of those guys still OCs?
Easier to joke when you can’t respond.
quote:
Even if it was, this is not the first hire ever made in history that did not work out.
Again, of course not. Coaches are hired and fired all the time when they can’t do what’s expected of them. Coordinators, head coaches, no one has a lifetime contract
quote:
did they ever lay eyes on each other in Wisconsin?
As mentioned in my other post, I misunderstood your previous comment.
quote:
Ensminger better watch his step apparently, since Aranda recommended him as well
Well if you are going to make shite up about Wisconsin, WHY stop there, huh???
Are you not one of the ones that says Aranda wanted E?? Not saying you are, could have been Clownboy or one of the others
quote:
So you just wait until a year later to bitch about it and confess to how much better you would have handled the situation. Makes sense to me. You?
I responded when you and the other poster were having your pow wow about Canada being forced on O. I didnt just bring this up to bitch. But when I see nonsense, I don’t mind stepping in to clarify.
As for how I would have handled it, you asked what O was supposed to do if his bosses told him to do something. I simply provided an alternate approach.
quote:
So at the time it occurred you thought it was a bad hire?
Nope. But I’m a fan that did a quick google search and looked at some stats. Why is that relevant to whether or not O hired the right OC? I’m assuming O did more than that
quote:
Or are you just attacking Eaux in retrospect AFTER knowing the result a year later?
I’m not attacking anyone. It was a bad hire. The results are kind of a good judge of whether it was a good hire or not, no?
I haven’t attacked the E hire either btw.
O is the coach. He can and should hire whoever he thinks is the best for the team. And he’ll answer to that for better or worse, no excuses, as it should be

Maybe he was honest with those recruits in telling them he had a HC that neither was knowledgeable or supportive of his philosophy.
Or maybe Canada was an a...s a....s like some creatures on these boards:).

My apologies, you said coached against, I thought you said coached with.
I assumed there was an overlap at Wisconsin I wasn’t previously aware of
Yeah, this pretty much sums up your 20/20 hindsight a year later on the Canada hire also.
Maybe your dreams will come true and Eaux will be gone before next season starts. Hopefully before he hires another RB, O-line, safeties coach or any more support staff. He has been so horrible at ALL of his hires.

Yeah. We can't have him as screwing up anymore hires. There's definitely a pattern emerging here.

Anthony Jennings and Brandon Harris both transferred and stunk it up even worse at their eventual destinations than they did at LSU. No program could have developed them beyond abysmal. Evaluation and recruiting have been the biggest problems with quarterbacks. Every QB recruited from high school over the last decade has been dreadful, no matter if he played at LSU or elsewhere.

quote:He botched the Canada hire nobody knows how cregg, ensminger, and his other hires pan out until the season plays out. The fact Canada doesn't stay anywhere long at all should've been a red flag for O but he's now getting a check without coaching. hope the rest of his hires pan out.

LSU has always had talent coming in at QB, the issue was using it.

And this sums up your approach to all things O. You speak as if everything he does is a success outright. No one knows how those hires will pan out. Just like no one knew how Canada would pan out even though he was THE ONLY BROYLES AWARD CANDIDATE which you love to point out.
These new hires don’t even come with that type of achievement on their resume, yet you already discuss as them as though O’s endorsement ensures they are the right hire. The Canada situation clearly disproves that line of thought.
You’ve already declared in this thread that O has now “corrected the situation” at OC. What if E can’t get the offense on track and it struggles yet again?
But of course it will be unfair and hating if anyone waits a year to see how E and the new coaches actually do before declaring them good or bad hires.

Maybe your dreams will come true and Eaux will be gone before next season starts.
Is this where I pull a Ree and call you a LIAR because I’ve never said any such thing?
I’ve been as optimistic as anyone on this board since the Burrow signing (except maybe Cliff ). He is a game changing addition that gives us a great opportunity to finally get the program back on track at the QB position.
If that happens, everything else will fall into place going forward.
It’s a shame you so eagerly bailed on our point by point discussion and just tried to end it on the one misunderstanding I readily admitted and pointed out even though it had no bearing on the point of our discussion.
It was amusing watching your propagandist acrobatics on full display for all to see

LSU has always had talent coming in at QB,
Define "always"?
LSU had just two talented QB's during Mile's tenure, Matt Flynn and Mett, is that your definition of 'always'?

Harris 4*.
Perriloux 5*
Jefferson 4*
Lee 4*
Jennings 4*
Scott 3*
McMillan 3*
Retting 4*
Mettenberg 4*
J. Randall 4*
Rivers 3*
All had multiple offers coming out of High School and came to LSU. As I said, talent wasn't an issue it was development that was the issue.

Except for Mett, none of those guys listed would be conspired legit QB’s in the NFL, not even bench warmers. Am I right?
Posted on 6/24/18 at 10:15 am to TrueTigerTale
quote:Again, irrelevant what they did in the NFL. Coming out all were seen as talented individual players who had many offers from several top-ranked programs. Hence the whole point of the article in the OP.

Irrelevant best defines those players listed except for Mett, you either have it or you don’t, and they didn’t
Posted on 6/24/18 at 10:35 am to TrueTigerTale
Oh, I guess Alabama doesn't get talented QB's either since none have accomplished anything in the NFL per your argument.
Posted on 6/24/18 at 10:48 am to tduecen
Alabama has QB’s who are either playing in the NFL or were asked to try out and chose not to. Besides Mett Flynnand Etling, who has asked for LSU’s
Posted on 6/24/18 at 10:52 am to TrueTigerTale
quote:Alabama has one in the NFL currently... Face it your argument LSU doesn't have talent is pointless. You keep trying to move goal post in order to justify yourself and instead of looking like a fool.
Alabama has QB’s who are either playing in the NFL
LSU has recruited talented QB's they have not developed these QB's is the biggest problem, getting the talent to LSU is not. The article you even list is talking about what they've done in High School or earn their ranking and now you are talking about NFL. If Burrow, Parrish, or any other QB recruit doesn't make it to the NFL are they less talented than when LSU recruited them.
Posted on 6/24/18 at 11:09 am to tduecen
It’s a false narearive, nobody could develop LSU ‘s past QB’s even when they transferred
Posted on 6/24/18 at 11:16 am to TrueTigerTale
Damn, I believe you are pretty fricking ignorant, like borderline retarded.
You've changed your argument a few times yet you want to post the article like this is some new thing of LSU getting talent when they've always gotten talent. Then you argue NFL and when that is proven false using Alabama QB's now you're argument has shifted again. Move those goalposts, you are great at it.
