re: Is your downswing a pull or a push?

Used to be all pull but now thinking starting the downswing with the thought of pushing the right elbow at the ball. Inspired by Monte Scheinblum and to a lesser extent Mike Malaska. It shallows the club, syncs me up and has allowed me to be much more consistent. Handicap has dropped from 7 to 5.2 in about 6 weeks and scoring is so much more consistent, mostly high 70s.

I used to think “pull” was the basic concept, but Malaska videos convinced me that “pulling” the handle is not the key.
Basic thought is “swing” the club head and allow the handle to rotate with my body.
I don’t think of it as pushing or pulling. Just let the handle move throughout the swing.
Pushing thought might lead to “over the top” move.
Pulling might lead to “hanging back.”
In general, I only “think” on range.
I just play when I play.
