Nuisance Gator - UPDATE Page 3

We have a nuisance gator in our back yard neighborhood pond. Been there for a few weeks now. Nuisance gator hunter hasn’t been successful yet. I’ve had a shot on the fella multiple times. It’s about 5-6’ and has eaten two of the neighbors pet ducks.
What’s the rules on taking a nuisance gator if you aren’t a nuisance gator hunter? I thought you could take them if they were on your property and a threat.
I hate gators and I’m ready to let my dogs swim again.
TIA

I wouldn’t trust myself with a dime sized kill spot...

You can’t get in trouble if you don’t get caught

Is he trying to trap or kill?

I talked to him the other day. He says trap and relocate.
Let’s just say if I was an approved nuisance hunter, there wouldn’t be much “relocating”

Normally 6' and under they relocate over 6' they kill. LDWF gives them a nuisance tag and they take the dead gator to the process to get paid. They don't make money off the small gators so less incentive to get it done...

Completely hearsay, but my ex-in-laws had a large pond that butted up against a large canal. They had alligators regularly. They called green jeans and were told if it seems to have made the pond home, and it's in close proximity to the house, they could kill it.
I didn't talk to wildlife and fisheries, so don't quote me on that.

This is not how it works, the homeowner calls LDWF and they issue a tag number to the homeowner over the phone and give the homeowner the number of a couple of trappers in the area.

You must holler “it’s coming right for me” before you can shoot !

Wait til September. Take a ride to Pierre Part. Ask where Troy Landry lives. Talk to Troy.

Was your neighborhood on the news tonight?

Thanks for the phone call. I was going to let my dog swim before dropping him off in your house on Saturday

So, you'd just leave it there to rot? Gonna stink!

True. You have to ask what would Phil do? He would have already made the rice.

Only 2 possible outcomes
1. "Damn this alligator sauce picante tastes good. Hey babe, grab me another white can, will ya?"
2. (Agent - Knocks on door) "Hello, Mr. CajunCommander. I'm agent greenjeans with the LDWF. We have received a report that you may have killed an alligator in the neighborhood pond?"
(CajunCommander) "I don't know what you're talking about guy. Bye."
(closes door on agent greenjean's face) "hey babe, grab me another white can, and pull that leftover sauce picante out the fridge."

a real man would have dispatched that gator and told no one.
