Fiberglass or vinyl lined pool? Recs or suggests with install.

Gunite is out cuz I don't have 60k.
Leaning toward deep end fiberglass because of less maintenance and don't want to have to replace a vinyl liner in 10 years.
What are your experiences with installation? Maintenance issues?
Thanks

That's an option but I have two small kids that love to swim and I'm thinking it will make for great family time and lots of memories.

We got an above ground pool. Just a better deal financially. Even put ours in the front yard so tge whole neighborhood could see.

If a pool is at all a financial strain don't get one.

I'm going to piggy back off of your thread and also ask if anyone knows a pool contractor that can install a well point for ground water issues around a pool.
And to answer your question, I have a vinyl liner and constantly deal with water behind the liner, wrinkles, etc. so take that for what it's worth.

If u go fiberglass DO NOT use Precision Pools out of Gonzales. TERRIBLE! i know more than one who has been screwed but his crappy work!

Go fiberglass if you can but prolly be 45-50k all said and done.
And don't listen to the people that say don't get one and complain it's a bunch of work, either they had a pool a long time ago or they are lazy.
We put in a gunite last year and it's the best decision I have made. I put the auto vacuum in 2 or 3 times a week and press a button and then I do a super chlorination run if we swam all weekend on Sunday night. Other than that I clean the filters every three months, strainers once a week. On chemicals I get pool water tested about once a month on average and add what they tell me but usually it's 10 lbs salt and a cup of refresh. Takes 10 min.
New pools are not much work at all and are not expensive to maintain. Electric and gas bill did go up though but worth it.

Agree do not use Precision! We must know the same person after seeing the area your in. Call Central Pools if you want fiberglass.

Absolutely no need for a deep end...it's only trouble.

Gunite or no pool... the other shite will cost more in the long run anyway

I had a fiberglass. It was awesome. Easy as shite to maintain.

I've had gunfire and in ground vinyl, the vinyl is half the price and looks great, if I have to replace the liner in ten yrs I would have easily gotten my money out of it
have heard horror stories with fiberglas, no way in hell I'd go that route

The selling point of fiberglass is that it’s cheaper to maintain and last longer than a concrere pool. Concrete will need to be refinished eventually and will likely cost 25% or more of the pools initial cost to refinish.
Central pools sells some nice fiberglass designs. The wife and I are going to have one bid this fall.
