Just like a poster said a couple posts up, if Tua did what he did at LSU y'all would crowning him a Heisman candidate right now. The kid is good and will be a SOB for our defense for the next couple of years.

1. Nick Fitzgerald (2 years)
4,200 pass yds 36 td
2,300 rush yds 30 td
Record would be a lot better, but the defense gave up a ton of points in 2016. Was average in 2017.
He would start and thrive on any team in the SEC.

As far as potential... Tua and Justin Fields (if he surpasses Fromm). Based off past evidence - Fitz then Stidham. The rest are interchangeable.

Ok, so tua, who came in for the reigning sec player of rhe year, on the biggest stage, against the best defense and threw for almost 200 yards in that half, including a fire line strike in ot on 2nd and 26 shouldn't be praised yet...BUT
A 3rd string cast off who couldn't cut muster at Ohio state is going to lead lsu to the national title and we should all fear him...yeaaaa..ok.
I love the objectivity.

I dread that game. And, we never play well in Jordan Hare. 7-41 in '14 and the game in '16 which sent Les in front of the firing squad.

don't underestimate Cole Kelley either

50% Fitz? Get real. He’s fricking terrible. He’s basically Jalen Hurts.

Based on last year, Fitz should be #1 or 2. Dude destroyed our d last year
That was more about how bad the defense played and not a statement about how good Moo Us offense was. They got slammed by every other team with a pulse on defense and had they played us later in the year they would have gotten hammered.

In Hawaii? Elite competition? You are joking right?

Stidham's obviously 1
The rest is whatever order but that Tua kid's got some major talent holy mackerel

Sorry to burst your little red bubble there, Touchchildren Tony, but one game does not mean he is going to be some great QB. He may be, but one game isn’t convincing I don’t care what stage it was on. Sometimes that big stage actually helps by getting the adrenaline going into overdrive and helps with quick decision making and accuracy. He very well could bomb in every game he plays in now.

LSU limped into that game with all kinds of issues. Fitzgerald will not have that same impact especially on the ground as he did last year. I just don't see that happening. Our DL and LB core will be night and day from last year. Lawrence was routinely double teamed but with Fehoko and Ed they will have to pick their poison.
I sure hope Shelvin is in tip top shape come the first game of the season. There is no reason for these guys not to be in playing shape. If that's not the case then this staff needs to get on these guys ASAP about how they take care of them selves.

I don't normally respond to your type. But.. Gump please! 3rd string cast off. Have you asked anyone in Ohio..of course not... Mighty defensive and we know why.....

Key take away from this thread is:
Damn we have a tough schedule!
Not the best season to have dropped the ball in CB recruiting and be low on depth. This is my biggest concern going in to the season.
I think the offense will be good enough.

Have you seen his stats? The only team that has consistently given Fitzgerald fits, is Bama.
But they give everyone fits, look at Fournette for example. He was still one of the best runningbacks in the SEC.
Can’t really rank the QBs based off a team’s effort. Some teams have better Olines, running games, skilled players or defenses to get the ball back or create better field positions.
Fitzgerald is the best overall QB in the league.
I agree with Tua, being a flash, but we haven’t seen enough to rank him higher than Fitz, Stidham or Fromm/Fields. He plays for Bama, so he’ll look good either way.

He looked great on the biggest stage of any college football player's career against the second best team in the country. A lot different than Anthony Jennings against a mediocre Arkansas team. Nobody said he's GOAT. The question was ranking the QBs we play. It has to be accounted for with all the talent surrounding him too. He's on the most talented team in the SEC stacked in almost every position. Use common sense.

Holy shite u just compared a whole hale of NC game to 3 minutes vs a below .500 Arky. Yep I can see the resemblance there.

Georgia wa an exhausted team by overtime. Remember they had to play the Rose Bowl semifinal against Oklahoma while BAMA played close to home against a much inferior opponent. Plus Georgia had to play the SEC title game while BAMA staye dhome and rested and found a way to sneak into the title playioffs.
Tua may eventually prove his greatness, he does have all of the tools , but so have many who proved to be less than anticipated. So lets see how he handles being the man rather than coming into the game with nothing to lose and using his athleticism against a depleted opponent.
